This week Jason Pyles reviews Bobcat Goldthwait's God Bless America. He enters into an interesting discussion about freedom of speech (or art) vs. responsibility of filmmakers to their possibly impressionable audiences. Perhaps the film itself is a part of the horrible fall of society which its anti-hero strives to thwart. Next Week's Film: Scalene We hope you enjoyed our podcast. This week Jason takes a look at Undocumented a Chris Peckover film from 2010. Undocumented is a film about a group of documentary filmmakers who are making a film about illegal immigrants crossing the border who then cross paths with sadistic radicals who desire to "protect" the borders. The film  just might fit into Hammer's "give me something different" needs from horror films, but is Jason convinced? Next Week's Film: God Bless America We hope you enjoyed our podcast.  Movie Stream Cast 12: Bad Boys (1995) and Bad Boys II (2003) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 9:31

Movie Stream Cast host Jason Pyles reviews Bad Boys and Bad Boys II both directed by Michael Bay. Fast Facts: The police headquarters is in reality the Dade County Courthouse. The original title was Bulletproof Hearts and the film was originally supposed to star Dana Carvey and Jon Lovitz. After hours of arguing with Will Smith over his line "I Love You" which is said to Martin Lawrence's character Michael Bay finally relented due to running out of time for filming, Smith then said the line and it made it into the final cut. Bad Boys II and 2 Fast 2 Furious filmed during the same time on opposite sides of Cape Florida State Park. During filming of Bad Boys II, Florida Governor Jeb Bush had to give producers a release to film the high-speed boat chase on the Miami River because of manatee protection laws. In Bad Boys II, the man driving the P.O.S. car that Marcus tries to commandeer is Michael Bay. Next Week's Film: Gasland We hope you enjoyed our podcast.  Movie Stream Cast 11: The Paperboy (2012) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 9:39

Today Jason takes a look at The Paperboy. Now, I know what you're thinking: "After turning a beloved board game like Battleship into some sort of alien invasion film (that is not what sank my battleship), now we turn the Nintendo game Paperboy into a smutty-looking Nicole Kidman film? Does Hollywood know no boundaries?" Just a joke, I believe there is no affiliation with that title. After his ballsier (can you believe that word is in my spellcheck dictionary?) roles is Jason developing a man crush on Matthew McConaughey? You be the judge. Fast Facts: The role of Jack was originally to be played by Tobey Maguire but due to scheduling conflicts he had to pull out. Sofia Vergara was first cast as Charlotte. The first choice for Jack was Alex Pettyfer. The Paperboy theme is called "Mesmerized" and is performed by Mariah Carey. Next Week's Films: Bad Boys and Bad Boys II We hope you enjoyed our podcast.  Movie Stream Cast Ep. 010: The Messenger (2009) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 8:04

Today Jason reviews The Messenger starring Woody Harrelson, Ben Foster, Jena Malone and Samantha Morton. Staff Sergeant Will Montgomery (Foster) has been assigned to the Casualty Notification Team after being injured by an IED while deployed. Despite Captain Tony Stone (Harrelson) teaching him otherwise, Montgomery continues getting too close to the grieving family members. Jason makes a bold claim about Woody Harrelson and his career. He also reads Hammer's mind. Fast Facts: The soldiers in the film wear a patch with the number "22" on it, this is a non-existent "Phantom Division" which was used to fool the Germans during World War II. Sydney Pollack and Ben Affleck were both attached to direct at different times before screenwriter Oren Moverman eventually took the director's chair. Sgt. Brian Scott who served as a technical advisor on the film was deployed to Iraq and was injured in an IED attack. He re-deployed to Afghanistan this April.  Movie Stream Cast 009: Dogtooth (2009) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 10:38

Today Jason takes a journey into the garden of good and crazy. He reviews the 2009 Greek film "Kyondontas" aka Dogtooth. The film focuses on an overprotective father which goes to great and sometimes confusing lengths to protect his family from the outside world. The film also features an alternate vocabulary where people pick zombies, sit in the sea and lick keyboards. If you haven't watched the film, we dare you. The film features extreme violence and sex. Note from Hammer: Sorry for the delay this week everyone. I have had an extremely hectic week. I post the episodes, don't blame Jason. I hope it won't happen again. Thanks for listening. Fast Facts: Dogtooth (Kynodontas) was only the fifth film from Greece to be nominated for an Oscar. There is a similar film from 1973 called El castillo de la pureza (Castle of Purity). It was filmed in Mexico. None of the children in the film are given names. Next Week's Film: The Messenger We hope you enjoyed our podcast.  Movie Stream Cast Ep. 008: The Lincoln Lawyer (2011) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 7:05

Join Jason Pyles as he sits atop a Lincoln alongside the man-of-a-million-rom-coms known as Matthew McConaughey. In an interview last year with "Nylon Guys" magazine, McConaughey had this to say about the films he is most well-known for: “On those romantic comedies, I’m going, ‘How do I keep the balls on the dude?’” Does Jason think McConaughey is out of his league starring as the slick Lincoln Lawyer? Or just where he belongs? Fast Facts: Considered to exist in the same universe as the film Blood Work which is also based on a novel written by Michael Connelly. As of August of 2011, ABC had ordered a pilot for a TV series based upon The Lincoln Lawyer. Interestingly, Connelly wanted McConaughey to play Mickey Haller based on his performance in Tropic Thunder. Mickey Haller is based on a real lawyer in Los Angeles named David Ogden.  Movie Stream Cast 007: Cleanflix (2009) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 10:23

You probably expected to find a large picture of Michelle Monaghan here today didn't you? Well, fun as that might have been, the film Trucker is no longer available on Netflix streaming. Thus, Jason has decided to review Cleanflix a film about the sanitation of objectionable material in films for viewing by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We won't go into any further details but it's a very interesting ride for lovers of cinema. Fast Facts: -Your host, Jason Pyles, once wrote movie reviews for one of the edited movie rental shops featured in the film. An article written by him is also featured  in the film. -Co-Director of Cleanflix, Joshua Ligairi, is a co-host on Jason Pyles' other film podcast, Movie Podcast Weekly. -Despite finding the film fascinating and even considering whether the edited film versions are justifiable, podcast producer Jeff Hammer has decided that editing out unsavory material from a film about an unsavory subject is just stupid. Some additional trivia straight from Cleanflix Co-Director, and friend of the show, Joshua Ligairi: -The propaganda style of the animated graphics came from the fact that Shepard Fairey was attached to make the movie's poster before his famous Obama HOPE poster made Fairey a household name and put his work outside the budget of the film. -The Cleanflix DVD features a "clean" version of the documentary. -Said Ligairi, "You may think Daniel Thompson looks bad in the film, but we let him off easy." Jason's podcast featuring an interview with Cleanflix directors Joshua Ligairi and Andrew James. Jason's edited movie reviews. Next Week's Film: The Lincoln Lawyer We hope you enjoyed our podcast.
