There are two callings on all of our lives. The first calling is a general calling, to surrender to Jesus as Lord and to become more like Him. The second calling is a specific calling, to uniquely show off God’s glory, by extending His Kingdom in ways assigned specifically to us. Each of us is carrying a vital part of God’s dream for the generation in which we live. We’re all called to become.

However, there are difficult times and times of transition where God’s glory is not so evident to the natural eye. Regardless of the season we are experiencing, we are called to rest in the knowledge that God is transforming into His image and expressing His glory through us. God is taking us from glory to glory.

Romans 8:18-19 proclaims all of creation awaits the manifestation of what Colossians 1:26-27 describes as the hope of glory—Christ in us. The greatest opposition to this glory heaven hopes to be revealed, and the world longs to see is… US! This message celebrates the strength found in weakness, and its power to unleash God’s glory, asking, “Does this world need more of us or Christ in us?”

God’s glory is on display throughout all of creation. The skies, the seas, the stars, they all reflect the jaw-dropping, splendor of God’s glory. But no where can the glory of God be seen, in the way it’s seen in us — those made in His image and after His likeness. We were born for the glory of God and God has called us to meet with Him face to face to get it.

God has made us for His glory.  We have not made ourselves.  There is no such thing as a self-made man or woman.  We have all been constructed by God for God’s glory.  God wants to wear us as His garment.  He intends to put Himself on display, through our surrendered lives.

We all want to be glorious. We all want to be great. We all want to make a lasting contribution to this world. That desire is tied to the fact that we were all born for God’s glory. Each one of us was born to reflect the glory of God in the earth. We were created to point to Him though the unique expressions of His substance and character through our lives.
