Summer Ott, PsyD Dr. Ott is a founding and executive board member of the Sports Neuropsychological Society. She served as Co-Chair for the 2nd Annual Sports Neuropsychology Society Concussion Symposium held in Dallas Texas. She was a key member of the task force that developed verbiage for a sports concussion bill in Texas known as Natasha’s Bill. This bill, signed into law in June 2012, establishes return-to-play guidelines for school-aged athletes with concussions. Summer Ott, PsyD Dr. Summer Ott is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). She also serves as the Director of the Concussion Program at Memorial Hermann Ironman Sports Medicine Institute. Dr. Ott is a Neuropsychologist specializing in sports related concussions. She has extensive clinical and research experience with sports related concussions. She currently serves as the team neuropsychological consultant for the Houston Texans and Houston Rockets, as well as many universities and school districts in Texas.  Previously, Dr. Ott served as a neuropsychology consultant for the Houston Dynamo and the Houston Aeros. Paul Shupe, MD Dr. Shupe treats both recreational and professional athletes. He provides individualized treatment including surgical as well as nonsurgical management and rehabilitation. Dr. Shupe has worked with the Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, Houston Astros, Houston Dynamo and the athletic teams at the University of Houston. Dr. Shupe is the team physician for George Ranch High School in Richmond, Texas. A published author in medical journals, Dr. Shupe serves as an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Medical Association In his spare time, Dr. Shupe enjoys participating in Spartan races and cross-fit activities. Paul Shupe, MD Dr. Paul Shupe earned his medical degree at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., with distinction. He completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego in California, followed by his orthopedic sports medicine surgery fellowship at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston. Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Shupe specializes in sports medicine. His clinical interests include arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle.
