AT Direct with Josie Harding | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 52:05

The AT Direct Team Through volunteering at local events to gain experiences as an AT Josie Harding realized the need for Athletic Trainer services in club and youth sports. AT Direct was the solution for staffing all the events needed in Josie's local area. What is AT Direct? Similar to The Business ATVantage run by Alisha Pennington AT Direct employs ATs to contract events and for schools. They currently have a roster of about 90 ATs with 25 doing pretty much full time work. What is the Business Model? For Josie's company the event host pays the fee for Athletic Trainer services. Some ATs have a pay for service model in which an athlete would pay for each evaluation, therapy or modality done. Some get paid a flat rate for an event. While others are hourly Depending on how you set your contract up with Josie it will either be flat rate or hourly. What questions should I ask before taking a job? * Ask what they want out of your services* What is expected for the AT to supply* How and when you will get paid* The hourly or flat rate* Are players, coaches and officials informed there will be an AT on site* How many sites* Will tables, tents, signage be provided Where do you see yourself in ten years? Managing AT Direct full time. With steady growth AT direct is consuming more time and having a greater impact. I really enjoy working with youth and want to make sure I can help keep them healthy.  Doctor Luis Urrea talks ACLs – 507 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 51:36

Who is Doctor Luis Urrea Dr. Urrea is a regular attendee for the Davis Mountain clinic and joins Bubba for an interview after his talk. With a special interest in knee and hip Dr. Urrea aligns very closely with Bubba Wilson's new thinking on ACL rehab and RTP. ACLs, and pretty much all surgeries, should require functional testing to advance physical therapy or rehabilitation.   What should ACL RTP look like? Instead of being a time based approach they should b able to perform specific tasks or movements before moving on to the next phase. Once you can do 3 sets of 10 wall squats we move to TRX squats, then to body weight squats, then loaded squats… It was a rainy night out in Fort Davis and you can hear that in back ground.
