STOked iPod Edition

The remastered Stranded in Space episode is hot stuff, so we asked Gozer to come on the show and chat about what goes on behind the scenes to create these upgraded adventures! First up is the latest news on the “Duty Officer” system, followed by our review of the new weekly episode “Frozen”. We’ll debate if this mission fell a bit short of expectations, or sets us up for a dramatic thrill! Plus: Chris shares his thoughts on the new Captain’s Yacht vet reward.

It’s time for another Featured Episode review! This week in the world of STO, the developers have gotten around to righting a few wrongs that have persisted since launch. Tune in to hear the tweaks that will make everyone a little happier! And then, in the interest of making you even happier, we’ll have a heart-to-heart interview with Cryptic’s Online Community Rep, Shaun “Stormshade” Brodie. And last but certainly not least, Cryptic launched the highly-anticipated first mission in a new series of Featured Episodes, and the boys from STOked were there to give you their hands-on impressions of “The Vault” from top to bottom.

We finally have stats, prices and a whole bunch of pictures of the upcoming shuttles. These have quite a few players excited, so sit back and enjoy the new features! After covering the latest news and events in the wide world of STO, the boys are going to host a preview session of each of the Foundry missions being moved to Holodeck in the next few days! It’s all Engine math this week! After shunting our optical sensors through the auxiliary signal buffers, we were able to heroically save this week’s subspace transmission of STOked! While the transmission was partially damaged, we managed to save the best!

Welcome to 2011! Looks like STOked aren’t the only ones that took the holidays off… with barely any new content or ground-breaking news, we’ve decided to feature a bit of the community’s outlook on some recent features: Aegis/Borg Sets, the Garumba C-Store ship, and more responses to the continued development of the Foundry. Then we’ll go over some highlights from Dan Stahl’s recent interview on Trek Radio, and share the winner of our community-submitted UGC mission contest — complete with EPIC TRAILER! You can’t miss this!

Last year at almost this exact time, the STOked team made a few predictions about how the game would turn out over the span of 2010. How’d we do? Tune in to find out! In the wake of Season 3, the STOked team have a few chips to get off their shoulders. The lack of a live Foundry – once called “the secret project” of Season 3 – has left us underwhelmed despite the patch’s many great mechanic improvements. But we don’t dwell for long, as talking about all the neat new features that HAVE landed on Holodeck has gotten us excited about what we’ll see next! Borg ship parts, high-end Crafting sets, and more Foundry improvements coming to Tribble. Then, after we’re done gushing, Jeremy will MATH your face off with tips & tricks from the latest crafting overhaul, and we wrap up the episode with an update on our “Submit Your Foundry Mission” portion of Community Feedback.

The big topic this week in the STO community with no doubt is the Foundry. Jeremy and Chris have had their nerdy little hands on it for a bit now and they share their first impressions!
