Ep.175-Consent Guidebook Contributor, Sexuality Writer, and Speaker August McLaughlin and I talk about the release of her new book Girl Boner Journal, the followup to Girl Boner, the importance of talking openly about sexuality, how consent/sexuality/pleasure are linked and so much more! Ep.173-Consent Guidebook Contributor and Dominatrix, Mistress Justine Cross and I talk BDSM 101 basics, why consent is the first step of intimacy exploration, the importance of consent not only in her work, but also in everyday life. Ep.172-On this episode, Writer, Columnist, and Consent Guidebook contributor Beth Cone Kramer talks about dating and consent for women over 40, celebs and the #MeToo movement, and possible reasons for the generational divide when it comes to consent. Ep.171-On this episode, we talk to Therapist, Speaker, and Author Shadeen Francis about the hierarchy of consent, heteronormativity and consent, pop culture, and awareness of our boundaires and the boundaries of others. About Shadeen: Shadeen Francis, MFT is a marriage and family therapist, professor, and author specializing in sex therapy and social justice. Shadeen trains and collaborates with non-profit organizations, medical schools, homeless shelters, and university counseling centres to help them create safe, justice-oriented policies and practices. She has been featured on platforms like 6-ABC and Huffington Post to share her expertise, and she speaks internationally on topics such as self-esteem, sexual intimacy, and pleasure. Shadeen’s belief is that the world is built on the strengths of communities. On this episode, we chat about enthusiastic consent, the nuances of consent, how to make asking for consent fun and sexy, and why boundaries and important in the consent conversation. About Sex Coach Leigh: Leigh Montavon is a Sex Coach and Clinical Sexologist, as well as a writer, presenter, and educator. She specializes in working with, and is strongly connected to, the LGBTQIA+, kink, and non-monogamous communities. Leigh offers sex and relationship coaching to individuals in the Los Angeles area and via Skype from anywhere in the world. She writes a twice monthly column, “Ask Sex Coach Leigh,” for the Take Back Your Sex blog. She also hosts and facilitates a monthly women’s/genderqueer/non-binary polyamory discussion group.
