Yesterday, Paul covered all the basis, from Shaq's crucial performance against the Bobcats to the difficult decision ahead for Jermaine: "O'Neal knows that people are frustrated about his injuries. He is too. The ironic thing is the swelling did go down prior to Friday’s game, but he couldn’t take a chance if surgery is indeed in his near future. "My preference is to play," he said. "You don’t get this kind of opportunity [to play on a championship contender] very often.""

Marc Spears from Yahoo! Sports wll be joining us tonight to talk about the Celtics and provide some insight into the New Jersy Nets attempts to become players in the Eastern Conference with the acquisition of Carmelo Anothony. The latest incarnation includes the acquisition of the Nuggets Chauncey Billups, who according to Spears' article today, does not like the trade: "While the New Jersey Nets have engaged the Detroit Pistons and Nuggets in trade conversations by proposing a deal that would send Anthony, Billups and Pistons guard Richard Hamilton to New Jersey, Billups' agent made it clear Saturday that his client wants no part of such a move. So much so that he said Billups would seek a contract buyout if the Nets acquired him. Billups has long said he hopes to retire with the Nuggets and eventually join their front office." Also, for those of you who have been following our show over the past few years, you may recall the show when Marc mentioned that he had a script for a movie about Hurricane Katrina and the Superdome. One of our listener's got in touch with Marc and now it is a movie. You can view the trailer on facebook.
Join us after the Celtics pit Kevin Garnett against Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs!
Scott Souza from the MetroWest Daily News will be joining us tonight after the game against the Toronto Raptors. As you well know, the Celtics dropped 3 out of their 4 match-ups during the holiday week and lost Garnett just as the glut of injured players were preparing to return to the floor. Jermaine O'Neal was the first to get healthy and the most likely to bridge the gap during KG's absence. Scott had this article on O'Neal after the loss to the Hornets Friday: "O'Neal still looks uneasy in the team's offense and a little behind on conditioning - he's only been through three practices since swelling flared in his knee Nov. 8 in Dallas - but he was on the floor for Boston's 18-0 run in the second half and was a deterrent in the paint all day. "We're down a man and we're down a very important man (in Garnett)," O'Neal said. "You have to be willing to do whatever the coach asks you to in that situation." Rivers praised the play of O'Neal over the past three games, saying he is giving the team the defense it needs while letting his offense slowly develop. O'Neal has said throughout his injury-marred run in Boston that rebounding and shot blocking are the two things he knows he can help the club with even when his shooting and timing are off."
