Daniel Piccuta is the foreign policy advisor to the Commander, and concurrently launch director of the Pacific Outreach Directorate, U.S. Pacific Command. A member of the State Department's Senior Foreign Service, Dan has served three times in the Department's Executive Secretariat. His foreign postings have included Luxembourg, Milan, Belgrade and China. At the Forum on Global Engagement, his address was titled US and Chinese Security Interests in the Western Pacific: Seeds of Conflict or Cooperation.
Molly Corbett Broad became the twelfth president of ACE on May 1, 2008. She is the first woman to lead the organization since its founding in 1918. During her time at the Forum on Global Engagement, she addressed the ever-changing global landscape of higher education.
Brantly Womack holds the Hugh S. & Winifred B. Cumming Memorial Chair in International Affairs at the University of Virginia as is an honorary professor at two Chinese universities. His talk at this year's Forum on Global Engagement was titled: What makes China run? Background and Dynamics of China's Reform Era
Ambassador Warlick addresses the Summer 2011 shipboard community upon their arrival in Bulgaria. He encourages the students to explore and fall in love with the country and her people, and also talks about the strength of the ties between the U.S. and Bulgaria.

Students on the Summer 2011 voyage of Semester at Sea explored the Catalan Coast with professor Sian Davies-Vollum. Carrying out discussions that were begun in the classroom, she's able to show members of the class physical structures put in place along the coast to stop erosion while also putting into perspective the delicate balance between profitable tourism and ecological impacts of development.
