I think this is a popular tune with 4 string Irish-style plectrum players. Here is a clawhammer version, slightly slowed down (I tried it faster but kept tripping up so slowed it down a little).
I don't know much about this tune. I found it in a book of Yorkshire fiddle tunes. I like the way it came out in clawhammer style.
Donegal Danny
I've been listening to a lot of Buell Kazee lately (as well as his son, Philip), so this is loosely inspired by their version. I'm not used to singing in "public" so please be kind
Tunaday #14 - In Double C tuning (gCGCD). Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Known under different names. I'm not used to singing in "public". Comments are welcome but don't be too mean please.
For the Tune of the Week, 11/15/19, Gentleman from Virginia was written by a renowned fiddler who played in a band with Carroll Best. Tommy won a North Carolina Folk Heritage Award, amongst other honors. This arrangement comes from a bandmate, Roger Howell and from the Canote Brothers. You'll notice the difference. I like how the latter one expresses the melody.
Tunaday #273 = Tuning is g#(BEBE) - known as Dead Man's" E-tuning.
Whiskey Before Breakfast
Tunaday #160 - G/D tuning (gDGAD)
A slow version of Red Haired Boy in G Modal tuning with a drone accompaniment
