Brian Swartz is a trumpeter, composer, arranger and teacher based in Los Angeles, CA. Brian’s versatility as a jazz soloist, a powerful section player or an adept arranger has made him a much sought after sideman. Annette began working in the professional media circuit in New Delhi at the age of seventeen. She has since become an established recording artist, lending her voice to albums, jingles and voice-overs in nine languages, for television and radio. She also finds inspiration in musical theatre; performing, writing, and recording for various productions in India, besides continuing to perform live with AU and other bands. George Duke was reared in a working class section of Marin County. He was just four years old, when his mother took him to see Duke Ellington in concert. That concert was life changing for him. He began his piano studies at age seven, absorbing the roots of Black music in his local Baptist church. ". I saw how music could trigger emotions.” He was heavily influenced by Miles Davis and the soul-jazz sound of Les McCann and Cal Tjader. Attending the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and majoring in trombone and composition with a minor in contrabass, he received his Bachelor of Music degree in 1967. George and a young singer named Al Jarreau formed a group which became the house band at San Francisco's Half Note Club. Growing up in the sleepy little English town of Letchworth Garden City in the 1960s, Peter got interested in music while listening to the Beatles on the radio. His parents bought him an acoustic guitar when he eight and he taught himself to play while simultaneously taking lessons on the recorder, piano and then later, clarinet. His music education was going along just fine until one day in 1967 he heard the Jimi Hendrix song “Purple Haze”. He never heard sounds like that coming out of his acoustic guitar and he decided from that day on, the electric guitar was to be the most important thing in his life.
