The idea that God is a scorekeeper, constantly keeping track of our sin, keeps us from knowing the truth about how he views us. While justice condemns the wrong and the wrongdoer, God removes our sin so that he can condemn the sin, but love us. When we realize this, we can begin to truly experience the forgiveness he has given us—and see the true image of God through the distortion. Listen to Podcast.

We tend to avoid situations that we don't want to deal with. But what happens when God is the one asking us to take a step forward? It's normal to be confused or inconvenienced when we're interrupted by something we don't understand–but the good news is that God has already prepared us for anything he brings our way. When it comes to facing big risks, attitude is everything. We know that God has created us with all that we need to succeed, so why do we find ourselves acting out of an attitude of scarcity? When we're in the heat of the moment, it can be difficult to separate how we should react from how we feel. God wants us to react in accordance with his truth about us: that we are accepted, sure, and significant in him. When we recognize that nothing outside of us defines who we are, we can make pre-decisions that stay in line with what he wants for us. When we find ourselves stuck in destructive circles, what is it that keeps us from getting out of them? We tend to avoid pain at all costs—even if it means sacrificing growth. But changing our perspective can show us that experiencing short-term pain can lead to long-term progress. We can't be liked by everyone and be effective at anything. If we let ourselves be distracted by what others think, we forget what God has told us he knows. When we care about someone, we want the best for them. But even if our desires are good, the relationship can become toxic when we let those desires become demands. Our responsibility isn't to change people–it's to love them and entrust them to God. Because when we realize that God is ultimately in control, we can truly live in peace. Listen to Podcast.

We tend to forget that the life we're living is a product of the decisions we've made. When we realize that we are the only ones capable of changing our attitude, we give ourselves the power to break out of a circle and be a different person on the other side. Jesus tells us that we can come to him no matter how many times we've messed up, because living in the freedom of forgiveness allows us to experience our lives in a whole new way. Listen to Podcast.

How often do we find ourselves in patterns that lead to nowhere? How can we move forward to where we want to be if we're stuck where we are? God gives us the opportunity to experience relationships the way he intended them to be if we're willing to admit that something has to change.
