Brian Healy of Dead Artist Syndrome returns to guest host our 50th episode of Frontline Rewind! Healy gets together in studio with the one and only Michael Knott (LifeSavers, LSU) to celebrate digital release of his albums, “The Grape Prophet” and “Heaven High”. These guys are good friends and this episode is filled with camaraderie, transparency and free-flowing wit. Knott reveals the back-story for his rock opera, “The Grape Prophet” (L.S. Underground). Songs relate his experience with a Southern California church he attended that had self-proclaimed prophets from Kansas City. Tune in to hear details. Michael performs acoustic renditions of several songs from the album, available digitally for the first time since its 1992 Blonde Vinyl Records release. Healy also urges Knott to talk about a Saintly influence for “Heaven High” (LifeSavers), a crowd-funded CD that released in 2014, available digitally now for the first time. In Frontline Rewind 49, host Les Carlsen continues his interview with former bandmate and good friend, David Zaffiro. In Part 2 they dive into the creative process behind some great Zaffiro-infused Bloodgood songs that highlight his exceptional writing and playing abilities. David and Les kick off the show with a live couch concert version of “The Messiah”. David shares about his recent ventures, including mastering audio for Bloodgood’s independent album Dangerously Close and up-coming documentary film. He is even writing a book that includes stories about some very colorful family members. In Frontline Rewind 48, host Les Carlsen interviews his former Bloodgood bandmate and longstanding friend, David Zaffiro. In this Part 1 of 2 episodes, they discuss David’s four solo albums on Frontline Records. A sampling of tracks is played from The Other Side (1989), In Scarlett Storm (1990), Surrender Absolute (1992) and Yesterday’s Left Behind (1994). It’s “Girls Gone Wild” in Frontline Rewind 47 as executive producer, Adel Meisenheimer, interviews Riki Michele, of Adam Again fame. It was fitting to get the girls together on the cusp of Michele’s female-infused new solo album, Push. She and producer, Margaret Becker, primarily wrote the new work, which also features several girlfriends. Getting together in Michele’s San Diego home provided an opportunity to celebrate the new release and reminisce about her very first solo album, Big Big Town. Songs on this first project were written by Gene Eugene (Adam Again) and Steve Hindalong (The Choir) and produced by Gene Eugene. Of course it has funk-rock influences and Adam Again-infused production. Songs featured are from Big Big Town, released digitally for the first time since its 1989 release on Broken Records, and a couple favorites from Push. Frontline Rewind Episode 46 is the second part of host Les Carlsen’s interview with Mike Stand of Altar Boys and Altar Billies. We are celebrating the recent re-issue of Gut Level Music CD available on Girder Records March 31st. Mike talks about bonus track, “I Just Can’t Let Go”, originally written for, but not included on, the 1986 Frontline Records’ GLM. In Frontline Rewind Episode 44 host Les Carlsen continues to visit with Jon Gibson in his home, where he talks about current life as a father of three boys and an independent artist. For a rare treat, Jon sings and plays several songs live and is joined by his sons on a couple.
