 I was just thinking...Where are the wise women?-Part 2 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:01:00

Now, this is my second installment of where are the wise women? An in the first installment we asked: What was our role in ancient, modern and future society and why it is necessary to reclaim our place as oracles, teachers and priestess and reject the negative images that pull us down? We discussed the prominence of the powers of the mother in ancient times. The root of the word ‘matter’ being mother and the idea that the material world is the maternal world and with everything having an equal opposite- the male principle represented the spiritual or ethereal world, but each was in communion with one another. How has the 'new way' of looking at woman been a degrading to our society? How has the media portrayed woman in a negative light? How has our wisdom been thwarted? Tune in Friday Dec. 6, 2013 and let's have a discussion.

Live Chat: The Jamaican Reggae Superstar living Legend Bob Andy | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 02:53:00

Bob Andy (born Keith Anderson) emerged as a solo star in 1966 with the smash hit "I've Got to Go Back Home", a song which has become a much-loved anthem for Jamaicans. He had served his singing and songwriting apprenticeship with the legendary vocal group The Paragons, which he founded with Tyrone (Don) Evans and Howard Barrett, later joined by John Holt. The Paragons had several hits for producer Coxsone Dodd including the Number One "Love At Last", penned by Bob. As one of Studio One's leading lights, Bob worked closely with Jackie Mittoo on many of the label's seminal sounds. Besides writing songs for himself which have become reggae standards - "Feeling Soul", "My Time", "Going Home", and "Too Experienced", to name just a few - Bob contributed hits for many of the other artists there In 1970, international recognition came when Bob and Marcia Griffiths recorded Nina Simone's "Young, Gifted and Black", which sold 1/2 million in the UK and Europe, and still receives frequent airplay today. BOB & MARCIA became household names, appearing on Top of the Pops and touring extensively. They had another UK Top Ten single and two albums for Trojan Records."You Don't Know" and "Life" are two songs from this time which hold a special place in the hearts of his British fans. After the duo split in 1974, Marcia became one of Bob Marley's I-Threes, and Bob's singles "Fire Burning" and "Check It Out" struck a responsive chord with Jamaicans in the new social consciousness of the Manley era. more on  http://www.bobandy.com/ caribbeanradioshow@gmail.com call in 661-467-2407 (c) copyright  Warning - any person and/or institution and/or Agent and/or Agency of any  structure including but not limited to the United States. you do NOT have my permission to utilize any of the content contained herein

Live Chat:The Greatest Jamaican Reggae DJ Dillinger ( Lester Bullock) | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 03:59:00

Dillinger (born Lester Bullock, June 25, 1953, Kingston, Jamaica) is a reggae artist As a young man growing up in Kingston, Dillinger would hang around Dennis Alcapone's El Paso sound system. This exposure would eventually lead to work in 1971, as a deejay on the Prince Jackie and El Paso sound systems, initially influenced by Big Youth, U Roy, and Dennis Alcapone, and performing as "Dennis Alcapone Jr.". The first record producer he worked with was Lee "Scratch" Perry, who decided that Bullock should change his name to Dillinger, after gangster John Dillinger. He was part of the second wave of deejay toasters who rose to prominence during the mid-1970s. In 1974, he recorded "Freshly" for Yabby You, and 1975 saw a slew of releases with a variety of producers including Augustus Pablo ("Brace a Boy"), Joseph Hoo Kim ("CB 200"), and Coxsone Dodd ("Killer Man Jaro"). Albums for Dodd (Ready Natty Dreadie) and Hoo Kim (CB 200 and Bionic Dread) would soon follow. His hit "Cocaine In My Brain", which relied heavily on the main tune from "Do It Any Way You Wanna" by the People's Choice was hugely popular internationally, and was a number 1 hit in the Netherlands. His output dropped somewhat in the mid-1980s but he returned to recording in the early 1990s. On September 17, 2008, the Mars Volta covered this song during a concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Dillinger was known for his quick wit, humorous lyrics and vulgar content (e.g. on the track "Crabs in My Pants").WIKIPEDIA ENTRY caribbeanradioshowgmail.com  www.crsradio.com www.caribbeanradioshow.com listener call in 661-467-2407
