 MIX / KELVIN ANDREWS / TALES FROM THE RIVERBANK NO.1 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 35:39

This mix is in support of the next Down To The Sea & Back party named (very niftily) as it is at venue Canal – Down To The Canal & Back. It’s on Sunday the 24th of this month and not only is there Kelvin Andrews, Balearic Mike and Jan Hammered bringing the noise they […]

 Mix / Justin Strauss / AREA | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:17:02

“Area was like no other club ever. Looking back and seeing the incredible book on the club that came out a few years, it was hard to believe that all that really happened. I was hanging out at the Garage every Saturday after playing at AREA. There was so much great music coming from everywhere. […]

 Mix / March 2016 Round Up | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:42:24

A post-midnight blue Noir Leo Mas favourite. A “Cycle” that calls on the power of Hans Zimmer`s score for Time`s tides. An English Summer past, Nature improvising in the key of D. A piece of Venetian genius. A Carl Craig-esque Techno epic by way of the White Isle. Luke Wyatt taking inspiration from the history […]

 Mix / Joakim / Dancing Is A Visible Action Of Life - 1998 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:10:40

Joakim hits 1998 with a vengeance. For some reason I always think these records were much more recent but basically anything that starts with The Jag (a total lost classic) and goes from there is good for me. Enjoy.

 MIX / VALENTINO / PUBLIC POSSESSION / REVIVEHER PARTY! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 55:56

We really like Public Possession over here at Test Pressing. As many of you will know it is a space (shop) in Munich that sells records, posters and hosts regular in-store sessions, as well as being a record label and merchandising company all run by the affable Marvin and Valentino. Ever since I received the […]

 Mix / Moonboots / Jutro / The Sunrise Sessions | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 58:31

We are very happy to welcome one of our favourite DJs back to Test Pressing in Moonboots. A proper record collector with an incredible collection and also a top party DJ to boot. If you want his details hit us up. He is also the man behind Aficionado alongside Jason Boardman – a label that […]

 Mix / Bullion | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 46:43

In keeping with his own recorded output here`s a seamlessly mixed collage of wonky rhythmic alternatives from Bullion. A frenetic, electronic, yet steamy tropical groove of conga avant garde, Paradise Garage handclaps, chiming Trance Rock, Electro popcorn popping, robotic Samba and Afro-cuban exuberance. Dieter Meier latin dances into an original raver from Westbam. Alex From Tokyo & Bing Ji Ling make authentic New Wave moves. I.R.T. take a Nuyorcian piano to the Funhouse. Machine-Jazz-Fusion mixes with beatbox basic Hip Hop, and Madonna.  Mix / Tusk Wax | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:02:49

The uplifting Pop sensibilities that fuelled Amnesia and Shoom get fused with midnight electronics. A mood-altering, mind-altering, cavernous House of “Sun Rising” “Acid Love”. A throbbing psychedelic chug of rave chimes, Kosmische synths, Italo arrangements and squelching flatulent Disco echoes: Prog House`s revenge. Bleeps and Bass and sinister strings. Farley funkin` with the drums again. Drums filtered and crashing. Collapsing new buildings and metal sheet bashing. A tribal stomp of shield and spear percussion. Techno where Jazz is the teacher. Germanic New Wave trance dance, and a red planet meteor shower. Fab Mayday`s “Me Africa” from the just released “Porn Wax Ten” opens proceedings and there`s a few more forthcoming Tusk / Porn / Horn Wax exclusives in there. Track-list * PW10 * PW12 * TW20 * HW10 * TW21 * PW11 * TW19 * TW20 * PW12 * PW10 * TW19 * TW21 * PW10 * TW21

 Mix / Joakim / Dancing Is A Visible Action Of Life - 1997 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 17:42

The Joakim mix series continues with 1997. House music was taking its influences, and samples, from disco and Detroit carried on its wave of magic techno (see Kenny Larkin’s Dark Comedy on this mix for proof). Quality with bells on.

 Mix / Joakim / Dancing Is A Visible Action Of Life - 1996 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:14:27

A mix for ’96. The year of Daft Punk, a little esoteric techno, Terrence Parker’s “Tribute To Ken Collier”, Those Guys ripping the back out of Jean Luc Ponty (jeez was that ’96???), Blaze “Lovely Dae”, a load of banging German techno from the likjes of Hardfloor and Roy Davis Jr’s sublime “Gabriel”. Killer year and fun times.

 Mix / Test Pressing Round Up / January 2016 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:19:21

Opening and closing with edits from the mysterious Jupiter & Mars. One from the past and one for the future. More Library Jazz / Funk from Aficionado. Another teaser from that CFCF mini-LP, this one with a touch of the Methneys. Ambience from the amazing Suso Saiz collection (on Music From Memory) and Tropical Hi-Fi (on Emotional Response). Two Weatherall moments. The poetry of Lowroad on the Lord Sabre curated Moine Dubh, and a collaboration with Nina Walsh, Piano Magic`s Franck Alba and Youth, together invading the heart. D.K. does his best Vangelis (circa “Good To See You”). Moscoman & Red Axes rattle steel pans and do their best Wolf Muller / Themes For Great Cities / Salon Des Amateurs (does “Wolf Muller” now qualify as a genre?). Andras Fox reprises “No Way Back” via Laidback`s “White Horse”. Ruf Dug gets put through Al Breadwinner`s board. Anna Homler spins yarns from other worlds. G Marie invoke Muslimgauze. Black Classical run the Voodoo down. Track-list: Lucio Battisti / Il Nostro Caro Angelo (Jupiter & Mars Numero Uno); Imperfect Product / Solina; CFCF / Fleurs Laisses dans Un Taxi; Tropical Hi-Fi / Tradewinds; Suso Saiz / Linda Cubana; Lowroad / Black Swan; D.K. / Journey To The Sun; Moscoman & Red Axes / Dikembe Manutu; Ruf Dug / Rasta Beach (Al Breadwinner Dub); Admas / Kalatashew Waga (Andras Fox Remix); Anna Homler & Steve Moshier / Ee Che; The Woodleigh Research Facility / Taqiya; G Marie / Konstanze; Black Classical / Running The Voodoo Down; Super Mama Djombo / Marietu Djeme; Floating Points / Silhouettes (Jupiter & Mars Edit).  Mix / D.K. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:06

Ok. We love this guy at Test Pressing. I like his whole synth sound as he takes it as far as it can go without tipping over into an 80s abyss. So, the act of restraint combined with amazing melody equals a unique sound and output, and if you can be unique in this day and age then much love to you and yours. And D.K. does that. We, well I, have been playing his forthcoming album on Antinote non-stop. Its superb. Short and sweet and the melodies and sounds just shine. So we asked him for a mix to see what he’s all about and here it is. The main himself says, “This mix is a wide range of ambient and avangarde music from all around the globe, somewhere between the 80’s and the 90’s.” Buy his album when you see it. You won’t regret it. You can pre-order the Antinote album here.

 Mix / Joakim / Dancing Is A Visible Action Of Life - 1995 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 59:09

Oh man… 1995 was a good year. “Loves Got Me High”, Masters At Work “The Bounce” and one of my favourite favourite house records ever in Chez Damier’s “Forever Monna” was released. Joakim joins the dots yet again in wonderful style.
