A major thrust of Maria’s efforts is getting The Dream Act enacted. The Dream Act gives young men and women who grew up in this country but were brought here illegally, a chance to become citizens and contribute to America by serving in the Armed Forces and going to college. Recently, Congress shuffled The Dream Act aside but Maria Teresa and Voto Latino are dedicated to continuing working with congressional leaders to get it passed. She calls on all of us to help support this important and morally just piece of Civil Rights legislation.
