We live in a society that tells us that we need to please others. We start out by pleasing our parents when we are young and it goes into pleasing our bosses, spouses, and children ect ect. as we grow older. Taking care of yourself is not a selfish thing to do like you might have been told in fact, it is natural to put yourself first and take care of yourself spiritually, emotionally, and physically before you care for others. It is the HEALTHY thing to do for yourself!
Fibromyalgia Syndrome is one of the most difficult conditions to treat. Some statistics show that less than 10% of fibromyalgia patients have had any kind of successful treatment with Western Medicine. We talk about ways to increase the chances of successful treatment and how you can empower your self with this fickle and at times debilitating condition.
Being chronically ill comes with a truckload of emotions. Feeling guilty because you are sick is not healthy and can cause more pain and illness. There is healthy guilt and unhealthy guilt and we address both in todays podcast.

If you are living with a long-term illness like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or arthritis, your sex life may not be what it used to. Issues like pain, exhaustion, stiffness, and depression are all common with chronic disease and not very conducive to a healthy sex life. It's not surprising that many people with these diseases lose interest and enjoyment in sex. Fortunately, you can change this. Even if you have a chronic disease, if your sexuality and intimacy are important for you and your partner, you can have a satisfying sex life again.

When diagnosed with a Chronic illness it is important not to let your illness define you. In this episode of "Daily Dose of Health and wellness" we talk about how labeling our conditions can sometimes be self distractive when it comes to your path to health and wellness. Also a very personal story about a nurse who became angry with me.
You know who I am talking about! Those emotionally draining people that when they have a problem, everyone has a problem, and it is NEVER their fault. These are people that expect you to hear them out but if it is you that has a problem they are not the least bit interested in what you have to say. You always “owe them” in some way. They remember everything they have ever done for you and will bring it up (Even if years have passed) to guilt you into doing something for them. I call them “Emotional Vampires”
