 #17 - Comic Reviews for 10/17/12 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:21:40

Welcome to Positively Nerdy! It’s a week of comic book reviews free of superheroes. And free of quality, concise explanation. This week I have more than a little bit of trouble describing the creative genius that is Chew #29 as well as Saucer Country #8. Fortunately there’s plenty to talk about with the return of Agent Cross in Star Wars: Agent of the Empire – Hard Targets #1 as well as He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #3. Sadly for He-Man plenty doesn’t mean good. It is the middle of football season so perhaps a rumbling, bumbling, stumbling comic recap is just what was needed. So listen in and found out which, if any, of these comics were worthy of being crowned the Top of the Stack

 #16 - Top5: Icons of Horror | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:27:16

Welcome to the scariest (and longest) Positively Nerdy yet! The Halloween specials keep right on rolling and this time we’re discussing the most primal and popular of Halloween traditions: watching scary movies. Featuring special guests Mike Lacey (What the Shell! And Wrestleshock! co-host) and Leah Porter (horror movie aficionado) this episode is the Top5 Icons of Horror! What characters, creatures and cannibals scared us the most? Each of us reveal our Top5 as secrets are revealed, confessions are made and debates rage. And to wrap-up this special over-sized edition we each recommend a must-see movie for the Halloween season. This is how you celebrate horror movie fandom

 #15 - It’s the Great Commentary, Charlie Brown! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:31:26

Welcome to a very special episode of Positively Nerdy!  Positively Nerdy is celebrating Halloween all month long and for many of us that means watching: "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".  For nearly 50 years this endearing television special has been must see TV for Halloween and Peanuts fans alike.  I am joined by Rob Base (www.alternativemindz.com) and Mike Lacey (What the Shell! and Wrestleshcok co-host) to share our memories of this special, it's impact on us as kids and how it's changed, if at all, when we watch it as adults.  Queue up your copy and join us as we celebrate Halloween in it's most pure and honest form.  This podcast is as sincere as Linus' pumpkin patch

 #14 - Comic Reviews for 10/10/12 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:33:22

The comic reviews are back!  This time around the decision for Top of the Stack was not an easy one!  Almost everything reviewed this week was a contender.  From Jonathan Hickman's final issue of Fantastic Four #611 and the zombie-infested Batman and Robin #13, to Steve Niles' new series, Transfusion #1 and the Minimum Carnage event tearing through the pages of Scarlet Spider #10.  But really it all came down to the return of the Clown Price of Crime in Batman#13 and the kick-off issue to Marvel NOW!, Uncanny Avengers #1.  So which comic claimed the top spot?  C'mon, you should know by now that the only way to find out is to listen!  So come get a dose of Positively Nerdy and experience the week in comics

 #12 - Who to Beam Up | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:30:38

Ryan and Chris have returned yet again to discuss the epic Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who crossover from IDW Publishing.  Initially we had planned to wait and discuss multiple issues but since issue #5 was so spectacular and jam-packed with fanboy delights, we knew we had to give it its own episode.  Ryan and Chris discuss all the goings on and, as usual, help each other along with the finer points of each franchise.  Chris finally learns the reason behind Captain Picard's hatred of the Borg and Ryan gets completely sidetracked for a bit as he discusses his recent attempts at tackling yet another science fiction franchise.  The guys also use their combined knowledge and think they have begun to figure out where all these spectacular events are headed.  Are they right?  Only time will tell but when it comes the Doctor time is no object.  So give Who to Beam Up a listen, engage

 #11 - Star Wars: The Clone Wars Seaon 5 Kick-Off | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:42:46

Strap yourselves in because one of the best animated series on TV is back for an all-new season.  That's right; we're talking about Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5!  Joining Ryan once again, and once again, is Star Wars artist, and all-around swell guy, Joe Hogan!  Joe and Ryan discuss the first episode of Season 5, 'Revival', and dissect and debate what fans might be in for during Season 5 based on the first episode and the countless trailers we've all watched over and over again.  Are we crazy? Could some of these wild predictions actually come true?  Probably not, but speculation is much more fun the 'wait and see' approach!  So join Ryan and Joe for more Star Wars goodness right here, on Positively Nerdy

 #10 - Comic Reviews for 9/26/2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:41:49

Positively Nerdy made it to ten whole episodes!  In this comic review episode no stone is left unturned, featuring everything from a superhero President to new Grant Morrison.  That's right Happy #1 debuted this week, just as the DC #0 Month came to a close with Talon #0, The Flash #0 and Aquaman #0.  Jonathan Hickman starts saying goodbye in FF #22 and unfortunately Skullkickers #18 is saying goodbye until 2013 but no one will miss Alpha after his goodbye in Amazing Spider-Man #694.  Super Dinosaur #14 still has me wishing for an animated series as good as Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and speaking of which Star Wars: Darth Maul: Death Sentence #3 pulls no punches and features Maul at his most ruthless.  And we can't forget that in the pages of The Ultimates #16 Captain America is sworn in as the President of the United States!  Will Cap make a good President?  Will he issue an executive order to make his series the selection for Top of the Stack? The only way to find out is to listen to episode number ten, so what are you waiting for? Enjoy

 #9 - Comics with Catch-Up! | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:18:51

This is the debut of an all-new recurring episode theme entitled: Comics with Catch-Up!  This show is all about going back, sometimes way back, to share with you comics that you, or I, might have missed.  For the first episode of Comics with Catch-Up, Positively Nerdy is taking a look at two digest-sized trade paperbacks from that galaxy far, far away.  First up, just in time for the premiere of Season 5, is Star Wars: The Clone Wars - The Sith Hunters!  Darth Maul and Savage Opress are on the loose, can the Jedi stop the two brothers?  Up next is Star Wars Adventures: Chewbacca and the Slavers of the Shadowlands.  Can a young Chewbacca save his friends, and his village, from a surprise attack?  It's all here, inside a brand-new episode of Positively Nerdy

 #8 - Comic Reviews for 9/19/2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:29:50

It's the last official week of summer but don't be too upset because there are plenty of wonderful comics to talk about!  This week we take a look at the Divided We Fall/United We Stand event in the Ultimates #15 and Ultimate Spider-Man #15.  Star Trek is popular this week (and every week!) with Star Trek #13 and the new Star Trek: The Next Generation - Hive #1, plus tagging along with more sci-fi fun is the action-packed conclusion to the latest Star Wars mini-series, Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison #5.  And since its still September that means there are still #0 issues out there and this week we discuss Wonder Woman #0 and Justice League #0 - which is surprisingly devoid of the Justice League.  There's only one way to find out which of these comics claim the honor of the Top of the Stack, so say the magic word and enjoy head into this episode of Positively Nerdy

 #7 - Who to Beam Up | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:36:34

Who to Beam Up, the ongoing discussion of IDW's Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who Assimilation2 crossover, is now a part of Positively Nerdy!  As has become the norm, I am joined by Doctor Who fan Chris Vint (host of Operation RetroShock and What the Shell? podcasts) as we discuss the ins and outs of this series.  In this episode we discuss issues three and four, bringing us to the halfway point in the series and the most defiant Captain Picard moment since Star Trek: First Contact!  What are the Borg and Cybermen up to?  How much do Guinan and the Doctor have in common?  And will Chris ever remember Riker's name?  All these answers, along with plenty of discussion and speculation, await you inside this episode.  So rev up your TARDIS (do they even rev up?), ready phasers and prepare for Who to Beam Up

 #6 - Comic Reviews for 9/12/2012 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 39:20

Welcome to an all-new comic review episode of Positively Nerdy!  They say variety is the spice of life and that is also true of this week's comics.  There are a few more #0 issues this week with Batman #0 and Batman and Robin #0.  More superheroics from Fantastic Four #610 and Scarlet Spider #9 as well as the comic everyone is talking about - Avengers Vs. X-Men #11!  IDW's Rocketeer: Cargo of Doom #2 takes readers back to the pulp-filled glory days of comics and Saucer Country #7 and Manhattan Projects #6 are rewriting history.  And we wrap up this week with a look at He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #2 which ignites a rather lengthy rant!  Which of these comics flew above their competition to capture to honor of the Top of the Stack?  The only way to find out is by taking a trip inside this episode of Positively Nerdy

#5 - Radical Corner of Turtle Comic Talk | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

Now a part of Positively Nerdy, the Radical Corner of Turtle Comic Talk is back for the fifth time!  Your hosts Ryan Porter and Suine Hallock are reunited to discuss the ongoing adventures of the lean, mean, green teens and all their out-of-this-world co-stars.  This time around we take a look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #13 as well as the Mirco-Series issues for April and Fugitoid.  What secrets and reveals will we discover? And despite not believing the cliff-hanger for issue #14, Ryan can't seem to shut up about it!  So grab some pizza and join us for some fun discussion all about one shell of a good comic series

 #4 - Comic Revies for 9/5/12 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: Unknown

The New 52 has been going strong for a whole year and to celebrate DC is releasing #0 issues for all 52 series.  This week Positively Nerdy takes a look at Action Comics, Detective Comics, Earth-2, Green Lantern and World's Finest.  Away from the world of DC there's plenty of the wall-crawler with Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #14 and Amazing Spider-Man #693.  Throw in some confusing action in the pages of Venom and more heart-wrenching dramatics in Sweet Tooth and it's a fully loaded comic review episode of Positively Nerdy! As you will hear in the episode's intro, this is where you can go to help Chris Vint and his family as they raise money to help his father in his fight against cancer: http://www.ebay.com/itm/120983193164?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT8_trksid=p3984.m1555.l264

 #3 - Star Wars Celebration VI Wrap-Up | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:19:17

As the title would suggest, this episode is all about Star Wars Celebration 6!  Joining me, since he actually attended and I did not, is Star Wars artist Joe Hogan!  Joe and I met at Celebration 5 and have not spoken in some time.  When you combine that with our great love of Star Wars and Joe still coming down off his convention high it makes for a very rambling and entertaining episode!  We discuss Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the new Star Wars Detours, the upcoming video game Star Wars: 1313 and so much more including pre-convention stories, new traditions and many celebrity encounters!  THIS is how you celebrate your fandom!  Enjoy, and may the Force be with you!

 #2 - Comic Reviews for 8/22/12 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:29:59

The comic reviews have returned, right here on Positively Nerdy!  This week is all about Spider-Man turning the big 5-0!  There's also a lot of fun to be had with Rocketeer: Cargo of Doom, Super Dinosaur and the Flash.  The Ultimates and Venom make an appearance, the Enterprise has Tribble trouble in Star Trek and the battle rages on in Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison.  As if all this comic awesomeness wasn't enough, there is a special contest to re-name the title for best comic of the week!  Enjoy
