Screenwriters Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio discuss their work on Despicable Me and Horton Hears a Who!

Curt Smith, co-founder of seminal music group Tears for Fears, released “This Is Christmas,” his first original holiday song, on November 29, 2010. Smith is releasing “This Is Christmas” via his KOOK Media label as a standalone single, which will be available in digital format from iTunes, Amazon MP3, and other online retailers. “This Is Christmas” will be featured in the December 15 episode of the USA Network series “Psych.” “I’d been attempting to write a holiday song for years,” Smith says, “but always found them a bit trite and forced. I was trying again when Psych’s James Roday approached me about licensing a song for the holiday episode of “Psych.” Once he sent me a clip of the scene he had in mind, it all made sense and the song came together naturally.”

Satirists Bruce Kluger and David Slavin have updated Clement Clark Moore’s classic poem of sugarplums and prancing reindeer to parody pop culture in Twas the Night Before Christmas: 21st Century Edition (Andrews McMeel Publishing, $9.99, October 2010). Santa’s workshop is bought out by a faceless corporation that trades holiday cheer for corporate greed in this modernized rendition of the classic Christmas rhyme. The story unfolds through a collection of memos, E-mails, Tweets, hilarious illustrations (picture Santa jumping on Oprah’s couch and Mrs. Claus in a racy Maxim cover photo), as well as sidesplitting verse.

Perhaps best known for her portrayal of Delia Ryan on "Ryan’s Hope," Ilene Kristen is currently the gambling, beer-guzzling and always inappropriate hairdresser Roxy Balsom on ABC's "One Life to Live" for which she received the 2004 and 2005 Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Ilene along with a rockin’ quartet is a regular performer at The Triad. She recently performed at The Metropolitan Room in an evening called “Ladies Night.”
