In one of the most important chapters on marriage in the New Testament, the Apostle Paul helped the Corinthian Christians - and us today - understand how God sees marriage, singleness, seperation, and divorce.
Paul deals with two further problems among the Corinthian Christians: their failure to resolve legal disputes among themselves, and sexual immorality in their midst.
There were many problems amonth the Corinthian Christians. In this chapter Paul dealt with two important problems: the scandalous sin of one in the Christian community, and the blind tolerance of the Corinthian Christians at large. The Apostle Paul shows them how God would have them deal with these problems.
The Corinthian Christians found it hard to think properly about God's servants - they tended to either exalt them or abase them. In this chapter, the Apostle Paul helps them to have a proper estimation of God's servants.
Dealing with pride and man-centeredness among the Corinthians, Paul uses strong words to correct these errors, and points them to the great wisdom of God evident in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
