Also for the new year we had Jeff Nance and Chris Brooks from the AMA. Lots of ground covered here including Club programs, Park Pilot, The FAA, Home land security and it's effect on the our hobby, the AMA Expo, why people should be members of the AMA, marketing initiatives and other 2010 events.
Jeff Meyers, the Southeast Electric Flight Festival (SEFF) event coordinator visits with us live in the studio. SEFF is the largest gathering of Electric flight in the world and the 2010 event is highly anticipated. We talked about the history of the event, when it started it's community outreach programs and how to plan for the 2010 event. A lot of specifics about past events, the staff and operational requirements that are needed to host 500 pilots for a world class event.
Chris Hinson Founder of Extreme Flight joined us on 12/08/09. Topics included the History of EF, detailed overviews of the EF planes, a new design contest around his newest plane "MX" someimages from China including a story of almost going to WW3 after his small plane and a chineese military plane had a little run in. Also we get the low down on what it really takes to design and manufacture the highest quality, highest performing RC aircraft in the world. Keep your seat-belts fastened for a Extreme evening.
The "Air Show" was happy to have special guest Larry Towner with us. Larry is from Gainesville GA and shared details of his company Radio Birdman and the Blue Wonder family of flying wings. The locals call Larry the "Candy Man" and we learned why as well as many aspects of his company and the various aircraft designs he offers. Keep your seat-belts fastened for a great evening.
