But the real discussion of the hour has to do with Bryan Sykes, and his latest claims about ‘Zana,’ a purported “ape woman” from the 1890s, who he thinks may have been Yeti.  Sykes’ forthcoming book will supposedly offer “the first scientific evidence” of the survival of “ape men”… but should we be skeptical? Regardless, this discussion has Micah thinking about Hypertrichosis and “Real Life Werewolves”… as well as how famous cases of this rare condition might help us learn about how humans could resemble a “Bigfoot”. Then in hour two, Nick Redfern joins us to set the stage for a discussion on Scientology, in which Aliester Crowley, Jack Parsons, and the founding of the JPL all fit into the strange occult underpinnings of the bizarre Scientology religion (in fact, click here for more on the strangely true link between Scientology, the Jet Propulsion Lab, and Occult Sorcery). Actress Leah Rimini was shunned by Scientology for questioning Tom Cruise’s “weird” relationships, but she wasn’t the only one… and Scientology’s treatment of celebrities is hardly the most bizarre aspect of their operation…  for instance, consider the time they carried out the single largest infiltration of American government in history. Chris Heyes has been missing for days, and hence, this week’s Gralien Report Podcast begins with the ongoing search for his whereabouts… only to discover him sitting in a dark corner of the bunker, concealed from view. Despite the false alarm, it makes for a humorous homage to the famous Unsolved Mysteries program from the 1990s, where we examine host Robert Stack’s personal beliefs in regard to the unexplained. Then moving on to the story of stray dogs who attended the funeral of the woman who fed them, we also discuss the 509 million year old yawunik kootenayi fossil unearthed, which makes this four-eyed creature older than the dinosaurs. Meanwhile, could a psychological phenomenon explain some of the “mystery booms”? Finally, was a UFO seen recently near Area 51? Not quite… Moving on to a few urban legends about UFOs, we take a look at this mystery box, and what it may have to do with airships and APRO. Was it all a hoax, or merely the ramblings of some obsessed individual? This reminded Micah about his recent visit to the purported grave of an “airship” pilot, buried in Aurora, Texas, back in 1897 (check out a few of the photos here). And finally, when Jamie Sullivan’s 4-year-old told her that her deceased great-grandmother was “here” and called her by a special name only the deceased relative had known, it spurred a bit of expected controversy… but was that the entire story, and does further evidence shed more light on the mystery?
