Dave reviews the forthcoming companion novel from TNT's The Librarians. Written by Greg Cox, The Librarians and the Lost Lamp follows Flynn Carsen in 2006 initially in pursuit of a draft of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and the young Librarians going to Las Vegas in 2016. Due to be released October 11th, the first of three books captures the essence of the television series as it places our heroes in danger while at the same time provides an opportunity for the shippers to get excited. Someone has woken the dragons and the earthquakes plaguing the world have sent the Librarians into overdrive as they research who or what might be behind this non-magic event. Flynn returns and takes Stone, Cassandra, and Eve with him to Rome to search for a stolen pearl while Jones stays behind at the Annex with Jenkins patiently waiting for his pizza with extra cheese.  Episode 162 The Librarians S01E06 And the Fables of Doom | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:00:22

For a variety of reasons, TNT aired the episodes out of John Rogers' intended order, so though it actually aired as the sixth episode of season 1, "And the Fables of Doom" was meant to air fourth. Employing the plot device of "weaponized fairy tales," writer Kate Rorick takes viewers on a playful romp as recognizable stories turn dark, and the librarians' personalities become affected providing a look into another side of each. Check out John Rogers' blog for some fascinating insight into each episode. Wayne also talks some Mr. Robot, and Dave runs down some of the show panels at 2016 SDCC. Episode Grade: Dave A-  Wayne A
