The Rock of KC is a church located in the Northland of Kansas City, MO. Our motto is: we are a "church without walls for all generations." In short, we see a church that seeks to reach every age group, and that the church extends beyond the four walls we find ourselves in each weekend. As important as our weekly worship experiences are, the church is maximized when it extends into our communities. We offer four worship experiences each weekend. Saturday at 5 PM, and three services on Sunday morning, at 8:30 AM, 10:15 AM, and 12 PM. Age-appropriate classes are offered for your children during each service, from birth all the way up to 6th grade. We would love to have you join us!

- John 14:1-11 - the work "know" is used 141 times in John's Gospel, but it does not always carry the same meaning. In fact, there are four different "levels" of knowing according to John: 1. the lowest level is simply knowing a fact. 2. the next level is to understand the truth behind that fact. 3. the third level introduces relationship; "to know" means "to believe in a person and become related to him or her." - John 17:3 4. the fourth use of "know" means "to have a deeper relationship with a person, a deeper communion." - Phil. 3:10 - Thoughts: 1. Let Jesus be your model (Col. 2:6-7, Eph. 4:25-32, Eph. 5:1-2) 2. Bow your knees before our Heavenly Father often (Eph. 3:14-21) 3. Talk to Him when you walk in the way (Deut. 6:1-9) 4. Let God turn your heart toward the children (Mal. 4:6) 5. Yield to the Holy Spirit to know Him as "Abba" (Rom. 8:12-15, Gal. 4:1-7) 6. - Isaiah 53:1-12 - the cross was the place of exchange 1. He was punished that we might be forgiven 2. He was wounded that we might be healed 3. He was made sin with our sinfulness that we might be made righteous with his righteousness. (2 Cor. 5:21) 4. He died our death that we might share his life 5. He was made a curse that we might receive the blessing (Gal. 3:13-14) 5. He endured our poverty that we might share his abundance 7. He bore our shame that we might share His glory (Isa. 53:3, Heb. 2:10) 8. He was rejected in exchange for our acceptance (Isa. 54:6, Eph. 1:3-6) 9. He was separated (cut off) that we might have union with Him (Col. 1:15-22, Rev. 2:17)

If shame isn’t dealt with, it can lead to paranoia, excessive perfectionism, or it can leave a person as nothing but a doormat for others. But God has a cure for shame. Hebrews 12:2 tells us that Jesus "endured the cross, scorning its shame...". At the Cross both types of shame need to be left there! Leave the misplaced shame and the well-placed shame. Leave the "If onlys", the regrets of things you did and didn't do but wished you would have or know you should have.

- John 10:10 - no Savior, no cross, no abundant life - what God has to say to us about the Cross: 1. we are to take up our cross daily (Luke 9:23 NKJV, NLT) 2. to fail to live a crucified life is to be unworthy (Matt. 10:38, Gal. 2:20) 3. the cross, heavenly treasures & earthly riches (Mark 10:17-27) 4. the message of the cross is both foolish and powerful (1 Cor. 1:17-18) - the central point: how the perishing see the cross, and how the saved see the cross 5. through the cross I am dead to the world and it is dead to me. (Gal. 6:14) 6. through the cross we are reconciled to God (Eph. 2:12-16) 7. it is possible to be an enemy of the cross (Phil. 3:17-21)

Matt 18:21-35 Forgiveness is: 1. Realize forgiveness is God's commandment (not a suggestion) Matt 6:14-15 2. Taking yourself out of the judgement seat simply because it belongs to God alone (Col. 3:12) 3. An act of God's grace being poured out through your heart 4. A result of being transformed into His image 5. A removal of a significant part of Satan's ground (2 Cor. 2:5-11) 6. An act of the will, not a servant of feelings - don't confuse forgiving, forgetting, wants, feelings, and choices - this too shall pass - give yourself time and begin to make right choices for yourself - so it is with forgiveness - we do it for our health and survival - Until you forgive, you will continually be dragging that person and unresolved hurts with you. Forgiveness allows you to let go and 'bury' the relationship or issue. - Who do you need to forgive? Do you need to forgive yourself? - What are your requirements for forgiving? - give up your requirements, your "rights. Forgive God's way - as long as you don't love, you will have difficulty making ANY relationship work

"At the end, someone or something always gives up. It is either you give up and quit or the obstacle orbfailure gives up and makes way for your success to come through." Don't quit defending truth. Don't quit defending honor. Don't quit defending Identity. Lie - I am messed up, perverted, broken beyond repair and can never change Truth - 2 Cor 5:17 If anyone is in Christ, He (she) is a new creation, the old is GONE, the new is here Lie - I can't get through this hard time. I am so tired all the time, my life is just too hard. Truth - 2 Cor 1:21 It is God who makes us able to stand firm in Christ Lie - My life really doesn't matter. I am a nobody. I am a loser Truth - Ephesians 2:10 (You) We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us (you) to do. Lie - No one could ever love me. If you knew me, you wouldn't love me. Truth - John 15:9 - As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. Lie - I am always going to fail. No matter what I try, it will fail, because I am a failure. Truth - Romans 8:37 - We are MORE than conquerors through Him (Christ) who loved us. 3) Rizpahs Stand on the Rock We must relentlessly defend our relationships, His Word, and our identity from a position of victory. You see you can be defending your position, but if you aren't positioned on the Rock, than you will constantly be defensive.

- Gen 46:28-30 - you can trust God. - things aren't always as the seem - we see and dwell in the natural, God sees and dwells in the supernatural - Gen 37:5-11 - one night Joseph had a dream - your dreams will get you in trouble with some but your dreams will bring salvation to many - dream and dream again - Joseph's dreams were not possible in the natural and were conceived by the Holy Spirit - when you know something is of God, guard and protect it - am I going to be governed by what I see or by what God says? - don't allow your emotions and feelings to lead and direct you and becom the compass of your soul - in the tough times before the dream is fulfilled, remember that no weapon formed against you will prosper - greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world - going to need to overcome some things between the dream and the fulfillment of the dream 1. overcome disappointment - drop your disappointments at the alter of God - at the door as you walk out - Prov. 23:18 - I'm not going to allow my disappointment to ruin my dreams - overcome the spirit of disappointment and depression - saying "get over your disappointment" isn't harsh - it's helpful 2. overcome temptation - being tempted is human, not sin - 1 Cor. 10:13 - make a decision to overcome temptation - a way out is spelled "R-U-N" - you've got to know when to run - Gen. 39:12 - 2 Tim 2:22 - not that it's not saying just "young people", but every person 3. overcome selfishness
