  Today’s Episode is a somber one… I wanted to speak briefly on the events of yesterday’s terrorist attack in Boston, what my fears are about this even and what comes after and most importantly to send out my thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this. I also wanted to talk about the recent dips in the Precious metals markets.  It was hard to move from something so terrible to something so mundane as precious metals, however I don’t want to dwell on the negative, to give my thoughts and prayers to the families as well as help to continue to provide information to all of you out there. Now most of us have a Spouse, Friend, parent, etc. that knows about our prepping and is not…helpful or just downright rude about it, and we think sometimes…”You know what when it all comes down you are going to be coming to me and asking me for help and Ill just say “I Told you so” ” This is normal, doesn’t make you a bad person, just a person.  However I want you to think beyond your own need for vindication, to feel “better” by saying it and realize that when that day comes, its a day that is going to be hard on all of us and we will need to pull together and not start out DAY 1 of the new normal with a divisive and nasty comment.  We will need to do all we can to grow as close as we can as a family or as friends, not as “the guy who was right” and the “guy who was wrong”.   Notes: Friend of the Show: Ridge Runner Belts: Paracord Belts and Slings Get a discount for Ridge Runner Belts by becoming a member! Today’s Episode are my thoughts on Bug out weapons and what I carry personally. With Modern Weapons, most are roughly the same in function, differences in performance vary, but basics are the same Bug out weapons can vary depending on the situation I prefer to have a light and portable set up for the vehicle and a more robust option for the Bug out from the Home The KelTec Sub 2000 and the Glock 17 are perfect as light portable option You don’t need to have something to assault a fortified position, If you need to use a weapon, you will need to use it so you can get away from where you are as fast as you can. Now I didn’t elaborate on this in the episode itself, but I know that  Hi-point and a Kimber pistol have MANY differences, so many that they cant be covered in the amount of time i have to write this!  But what i mean by being relatively the same is that you don’t have to worry much from any manufacturer (do your homework), that the gun wont go “bang” when you want it to.  In this way the consumer both with a big and a small budget can still get the relative same effect from their purchase.  Now I would prefer a Kimber Warrior or my Sig Match Grade .45 to a Hi point any day given the choice, however if faced with an attacker in close proximity, I would feel confidant using the Hi-point, etc. I also understand that some of you would not be enthused having a 9mm or even a .40 carbine as a bug out weapon.  If given a choice and all the options in the world I would want my tricked out M4, I would choose that over the Keltec 99% of the time, however I don’t get to choose, and also if given a choice I would choose not to be in that situation in the first place.  For a full out Mad max Patriots the coming collapse scenario, i would want my M4, but in a Hurricane Sandy or Katrina situation, I believe I would choose my KelTec in a Satchel or case and a Pistol on my side, so that i was more concealed and less suspicious. Tuesday February 26th the Supreme Court issued a ruling that insulated the government from illegally spying on Americans and others. How so, well the court dismissed the lawsuit by saying that the defendants couldn’t prove they had been spied upon illegally, and that is because the government refuses to conduct an investigation into what information has been obtained and from whom.  Now Senators Wyden and Udall asked the Inspector General for the Intelligence Services to conduct an investigation, they were told by the IG they would not, why? EMP’s are often associated with Solar Flares/Coronal Mass Ejections (CME) in Prepper Fiction, but they can also be caused by Nuclear Weapons, or EMP generating devices such as the CHAMP missile.   What Are EMP’S? In Today’s Episode I talk about Being smart with Credit Cards.  I don’t believe they are the root of all evil, lack of discipline is.  Credit Cards can be useful and necessary for online purchases, however their are ways to get around that and use prepaid cards.  As far as prepaid cards there are a multitude of different ones out there, I use GREEN DOT however you can figure out which one is best for you.  It should also go without saying, but these are just my opinions, I am not a financial planner, adviser or guru, I give you the information the choice is yours. Today’s episode is less of a show and more of pleading rant.  If you haven’t bought a duck hunting shotgun you’ve had your eye on, then you can wait awhile longer.  If you have wanted to buy a “Assault Rifle” or Semi Automatic Pistol then buy it now.  Also buy ammunition for those weapons, as well as reloading equipment. (I RECORDED THIS BEFORE THE RUSH AND BEFORE THE PRESIDENTS ADDRESS) In today’s show I talk about what guns will probably be included in a ban of some sort, what you should buy Buy High Capacity magazines for these types of guns.  For the ones you have, will get, or don’t even have.   Today’s Episode Focuses on updates about myself and the site, why I haven’t made a new episode in awhile and my thoughts on the Gun Rights battle being currently fought. There has been a lot of talk lately on the Feinstein Bill, however that shouldn’t be where we are focusing our fight and attention, that is just a Red Herring, a false monster being propped up so that we wont pay attention to the real one when it comes about.  They are using that as a “see how bad that is” example so we wont fight AS hard against the real one that is in the works.  The real one will be more “moderate” and “Common Sense Gun Control” and once passed will be expanded upon by Executive Order by the President.  So that the blame can be equally shared, but wont have one specific person to “blame” Who is really to Blame? Moderate Republicans and Democrats who have been wishy washy, but reliable enough over the years to keep us free from all of this. Notes: I know I said Minicast at the beginning of the episode, I ranted longer than I thought I would, so it turned into a full fledged Episode! Once again I apologize about not having any new podcast episodes lately, my mic broke and cost me another $200 to buy one…so I had to wait a bit to afford it, sold some magazines actually!   Heres a topic that many of us have had to deal with at some point…The Reluctant Spouse! Now this could be a boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, etc. It covers all the bases, most of us have gotten into prepping and had to deal with the fact that our loved one….isnt as ‘excited’ about it as we are. So Here are a few things I learned Do what you have to, to prepare you and your family Do it for the right reasons Learn to Speak your spouses language Relate Prepping to your spouses concerns Be Patient and understanding And more One thing I didn’t go into is why it is so important to address your spouses concerns and speak her language…once you get her/him on board initially you can build on that, dont think that once you break that first barrier that the dam will break and they will be on the same level as you and have their ‘epiphany’ as you have.  BE PATIENT! I hope that this may help you, let me know if there is anything i left out or things that worked for you!

The Election is long over so the feelings of that night are starting to subdue and we are rolling back to the normal or what life may be in these States United. I am very passionate in this episode and it shows through, and I hope gives you some insight into my feelings and thoughts on our country. I want to tell you what I think this Election SHOULD mean to Preppers. What we need to do for our individual preps We need to live out Liberty in our own lives We need to be that example for others to follow We need to make the change at the local and not the Federal level This is not a call for anything ‘revolutionary’ or illegal, but peaceful. I hope this can help to coalesce perhaps the same thoughts you have been having, and maybe we can all re-double our efforts to work together to bring back what has been lost.

Today I didnt want to focus on all the things that can go wrong in the coming future I wanted to talk about a few things I am thankful for, and that you should be thankful for as well An Awakening of Liberty in our youth An Awakening to Prepping on a larger scale than in the past Oathkeepers and the Military Our Families Please join me in taking today to push aside the “What if’s” and focus on our families and friends, Feel free to leave a comment on what YOU are thankful for!
