Delyn Simons, VP Developer Platform, The Mashery | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:02:00

API As A Product - Opening up Businesses & Providing Avenues for Growth   Most APIs support a company's product, like how a variety of applications can access Twitter content. There's a new breed of API that isn't supporting a product, but instead supporting the entire business. In these cases, the API is the product and the product helps developers solve a problem, which means developers are happy to pay.    Delyn Simons heads up developer outreach at Mashery, where she and her merry band of evangelists engage directly with Mashery’s growing network of 216,000 API key-wielding developers. Mashery’s API ecosystem also includes 175+ businesses looking to partner with developers inside and outside the walls of their companies, including Klout, ESPN, Coca-Cola, USA TODAY, Expedia, and The New York Times. Mashery offers API management, services and strategy for companies that are transforming their products into platforms. Prior to Mashery, Delyn worked at eBay, CMP Media, Insero and Well Engaged/The Well.   Delyn is speaking at the Startup Product Summit SF2 on October 12, 2013 at Broadway Studios in San Francisco which is like Tedtalks for Product excellence.  Amy Lightholder, Agile Coach, On Prioritization | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:03:00

Effective product teams not only understand which set of features must be present to justify a release, they have taken the time to carefully enumerate the ranking of each. A product backlog is a prioritized list of all the features and functionality needed to complete a project. A good product backlog is at the heart of any well-functioning agile team. A good product backlog does not automatically ensure good software. However, the lack of a good product backlog often results in incomplete software that does not meet the requirements of customers and stakeholders. The most effective product teams can demonstrate how their prioritization supports larger business priorities (and when the business priorities aren’t clear, these teams clarify them!).   Amy is speakering at ProductCampSF http://pcampsf.com   Learn about managing products to success at Product Bootcamp San Francisco Oct 10-12! http://bit.ly/14ZagOP Oct 10: Workshop Day: competitive space & Lean startup way. http://bit.ly/14SMcaC Oct 11 Startup Product Summit SF2 lightning talks w/experts & practitioners.http://bit.ly/1bvsOFm Oct 12 ProductCamp San Francisco! true community unconference http://pcampsf.com http://startupproduct.com
