Bill Joslin at an early age developed a fascination with mind and awareness. Subsequently he spent 16 years studying Bonpo, Nyingma Buddhist and Taoist practices. He spent a year in Asia interviewing Buddhist monks in Laos, Cambodia, Nepal; Taoist practitioners in Indonesia, and Bonpo priests in Northwest Nepal, comparing practices as taught in the west with the original monasteries and traditions from which the teachings originated. Nine years ago, Bill was asked by a number of people to counsel them with mediation practices they were having difficulty with and not finding aid from their current teachers. From a sense of responsibility Bill then went through a process of questioning every aspect of meditative knowledge he had gained over those years, essentially applying critical thinking to spiritual practices. In short order the illusion of meditation, spiritual teachers, and philosophical frameworks dissolved and a concise, non-mystical view of mind, self and world emerged with simple clarity. Meditation and spiritual guru-ship is an ancient form of control, the residue of which we live with today. This episode is about The Demurrer and Probable Cause. It’s being released on May 28, 2014, and was recorded April 24, 2014. Greg is a gigging musician and music instructor who found himself at the mercy of a policy enforcer of lesser intelligence one night on the way home from a gig. A student of the Trivium, Psychology, and Natural Law, Greg took it upon himself to respectfully decline to acquiesce to the officer's demands for documentation and soon found himself being violently ripped from his property with no prior warning of intent to arrest. Greg maintained his cool and attempted to refrain from escalating the situation with a person obviously acting outside of the bounds of reason and law -- he found it vastly more important to see down the longer road ahead and use lawful reason to assert his natural rights. After a brief stint in a county jail, Greg contacted Freeman Burt in order to obtain assistance in thwarting the nonsensical resistance charges brought against him by this agent of the state acting under the color of law. He has learned a great deal in a short amount of time, but his motivation has remained strong as he has attempted to navigate City Hall. This episode is an interview with Paul Schrader, titled “San Bernardino County’s Sheriff in Exile” and is being released on Sunday, September 29, 2013. This interview with Paul was recorded Tuesday, September 24, 2013. In 2010 Paul sought the Office of Sheriff in San Bernardino County. Despite being significantly outspent 25 to 1 by the established politician who was appointed as Sheriff in 2009, he placed second in the election (out of three candidates). Paul earned the endorsements of numerous associations, California Chiefs, and other dignitaries. [and I should point out that after the election, the appointed Sheriff, Hoops, stepped down and appointed another sheriff, John McMahon, in an act of voter fraud to keep Paul out] Paul Schrader has 30 years of experience in city, county and Federal law enforcement. Paul currently works as a Deputy Sheriff Bonus One at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Paul was sent to San Diego, California for boot camp. After training he was sent to 1st Marines as an infantryman. After 2 years he went to the Military Police and was then assigned to work as an undercover narcotics operative at the Naval Investigative Intelligence Service (NCIS). Paul continued his career for the next 26 years working in city, county and Federal law enforcement. Paul has necessary, hands-on experience by being selected for several important assignments. These assignments have given Paul the skills essential to overseeing a large and active Sheriff’s Department, and in helping to develop trust and cooperation with the community, which Paul considers essential. His law enforcement management skills include jail supervision, Logistics team member, Risk Analysis Team supervision, and Patrol and Legal Unit supervision.
