As December dawns and Christmas draws near the Reverend Bill McMillan has some inspiring ideas for decorating the house for the festive season. Jim Bradley has practical advice on protecting precious plants during winter frosts and, if you would like to plant a tree for tree week, lots of tips on what to plant and how to plant it.

This week on Gardeners’ Corner, Cherrie is joined by Averil Milligan and Maurice Parkinson when the roadshow heads to Anahilt in Co. Down where members of Anahilt Presbyterian Church put their gardening questions to the team. The visit is part of the Church’s 350th anniversary.

Cherrie visits two very different gardens this week, Glenarm Castle Gardens in Co. Antrim and an urban community garden in Poleglass, on the outskirts of Belfast.

Cherrie is joined in the studio by Neil Porteous to discuss trees and shrubs for winter colour. Also in the programme Cherrie and Keith Crawford visit Grove Park Community Garden and Lee White from Belfast market talks about seasonal planting.
