There have been civil rights protests in New York since Wednesday over the death of a black man called Eric Garner held in a chokehold by a white police officer last July. A Staten Island grand jury decided not to indict the officer responsible for the chokehold. It echoes the findings of a grand jury last week in Missouri over the death of Michael Brown.
