Eighteen people have been killed in fighting between Turkish soldiers and Kurdish rebels. Kurdish fighters attacked Turkish military units in Hakkari; the southeastern province borders Kurdish areas in northern Iraq. Ten rebels and eight Turkish soldiers are among the dead.
