 Double Dragon – Cane and Rinse No.271 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:58:04

After the success of Nekketsu Koha Kunio-kun and Renegade, Yoshihisa Kishimoto of Technos Japan set about outdoing himself with Double Dragon. The resulting two-player brawler would go on to spawn multiple sequels and spin-offs, as well as influencing every game in the genre that came after it. Leon, James, Karl and Michiel start at the beginning and work their way through as far as Technos' demise and Double Dragon Advance. Contributions from the forum flesh things out as we try to pay lip service to the myriad successful and unsuccessful ports. A second Double Dragon podcast - issue 285 - will focus on Double Dragon Neon (2012), Double Dragon II: The Wander of The Dragons (2013) and Double Dragon IV (2017).  Tetris – Cane and Rinse No.270 | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 1:59:09

Tetris: Such a simple, elegant game with such a complex and convoluted back story. Leon, Josh, Karl and Leah recall the heights of their Tetris addictions and the versions (among countless versions) that worked for them and those incarnations which failed to capture the spark of Alexey Pazhitnov's original. As usual, the panel is embellished by the memories of the Cane and Rinse community, and also discuss high level play of both the NES version at The Classic Tetris World Championships, as favoured by purists - and also Arika's super-hardcore The Grand Master series with its speed 999 and its invisible tetrominoes. In the final podcast of our Zelda run spanning the first 27 or so years of the series, Leon, James, Josh and Leah arrive at Triforce of the Gods 2 - better known in the West as The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. Not for the first time, Nintendo turned to Zelda III on the SNES - the original Triforce of the Gods, a.k.a.
