Dave takes a look at the Owon SDS Series “Smart” oscilloscope. The 300MHz model SDS9302. But apart from bandwidth and sample rate, the same as the SDS8302, SDS8202, SDS8102, SDS7102, and SDS6062. Forum topic HERE
Fundamentals Friday All about opamp input bias currents. Dave goes through the theory, and then does some practical measurements and tweaking. Forum HERE
Teardown Tuesday Inside the Keithley 2015 THD 6.5 digit bench multimeter. Not just a multimeter, it does low noise signal generation and automated audio THD system measurement. Forum Topic HERE

Over an hour of Dave unboxing the new GW Instek GDS-2000A series VPO oscilloscope, and first impressions on trying to use it. Some comparison to the Rigol DS2000 series are also made. This is a not a proper considered review, it’s just a hack’n'slash at playing around with it out of the box. Forum Topic HERE
Dave explains the Dickson Doubler building block circuit. a.k.a diode charge pump. Use a spare microcontroller pin, some diodes, and capacitors to create a useful voltage doubler or voltage multiplier.
What’s inside the JBC CD-2BB soldering station. http://bit.ly/180GwAP http://www.mektronics.com.au/ Forum Topic HERE
Fundamentals Friday Dave takes you through designing a signal overload detector circuit from scratch and then builds it up on the breadboard. Window comparators, schmitt inverters, capacitor charging, pulse stretching, common mode input range, tongue angle tweaking, it’s all here.
What’s inside an $18K 20GHz handheld spectrum analyser? Rigol DSA815 teardown Tektronix MDO4000 teardown
