They discuss what the results mean for each team The first guest is Franco Panizo, the New York Red Bulls beat writer for MLSSoccer.com. Franco talks about the Red Bulls' loss to the Chicago Fire over the weekend and entertains the chance that the ultra-talented club could miss out on the playoffs. He also shares what the players have been saying about NYRB's late-season GM switch and reveals who he thinks needs to preform better if the Red Bulls are going to find success. Next, Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch handicaps the chance of the Crew to make the playoffs in a tight Eastern Conference race. He also talks about the recent lag in performance from Federico Higuain, who took the team by storm after joining this summer. Jardy tells us what the Crew could've done differently this season to have avoided this nail-biting finish and also talks about the role of Eddie Gaven. Not entirely sure if the schedule-makers planned it this way, but this is a very Cascadia-centric period for the Seattle Sounders. To help us make sense of it all, we brought on former Sounders defender Taylor Graham (@TaylorGraham26), who experienced this rivalry from numerous angles. He was a player on the USL and MLS teams and now is seeing it as a part of the business staff. Before we get to him, though, we discuss last week's scoreless draw with the Vancouver Whitecaps. Aaron was much more discouraged by the performance than I was, but he makes some very good points about the Sounders' propensity for pumping the ball into the box via cross. He also points out a troubling trend in games where that is a primary mode of attack. I focused a little more on the fact that the Sounders defense had its best performance in several weeks. With a very important mid week game for Vancouver, the guys bring in Matrin MacMahon to discuss what the Whitecaps need to do to finish the season strong and qualify for the playoffs in their second year in MLS.
