Summary: Most independent minded Americans realize that Washington DC is corrupt, and is run for the administrative convenience of Wall St. banks and multinational corporations. Republicans and Democrats have let us down time and time again. If the United States are to remain free and democratic, we must save our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Don't let the corporate media and the special interests tell you how to think! They demonize any restraint on federal authority (like Constitutionalism, states-rights, fully informed juries, and the OathKeepers) as racist, extremist, or seditious! Why? Because they are authoritarians at heart who want to run your life and take your money on behalf of the wealthiest people on earth. Ron Paul is America's leading voice for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. If you are disgusted by what corporate interests have gotten away with in recent years, you must understand that it wouldn't have been possible without government complicity. A small government cannot pass out favors to cronies, and therefore representatives are less likely to be corrupted. Don't allow the media to convince you that libertarian ideals are quaint, bizarre, or anachronistic. Don't allow the likes of the ADL and Southern Poverty Law Center to get away with saying that you're a racist if you believe you've been taxed enough and you think the borders should be secured. Dr. Paul represents a return to common sense in government, and to the freedom that allowed such great prosperity in our country. So take a listen to Congressman Paul's words as he is interviewed by the media, gives speeches to students and supporters, and debates ideological foes. Welcome to this week’s Rand Paul 2016 media watch update. I apologize for falling behind a bit as of late- I’ve been putting in long hours on the job. Sen. Paul continues to thumb his nose at the leadership of both parties- namely, the advocates of the so-called “bipartisan consensus” on foreign policy. The Senator staged an attempt to defund foreign aid to the Egyptian government. He has also begun his formal advocacy for school choice. But the most significant storyline of the week continues to be the media-fueled war of words between Sen. Paul and Gov. Chris Christie. Check it out! While Ron Paul doesn’t make quite as many headlines now that he is ‘retired,’ the increasing influence of Justin Amash and Thomas Massie is making it easier to fill up hours of content for the podcast. All of our favorite elected leaders were together last weekend for the 5th annual Young Americans for Liberty national convention. The festivities went off in the midst of increased 2016 speculation for both Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. Establishment hacks and liberal Republicans like Chris Christie continue to attack libertarian thought regarding the Anglo-American empire and the domestic national security state. Also, the Ron Paul Channel is said to be launching this month. Although I’ve heard few details about the schedule or content, it looks as though ripping and reposting content will not be welcomed! Dr. Paul told students of their obligation to advance the cause of liberty and personal freedoms by using current technology such as the Internet to spread ideas. He also commented on current issues including the actions of whistleblowers Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning, and the closing of U.S. embassies and consulates due to terrorist threats. I've been meaning to post this audio for the last few weeks, waiting for some higher quality audio. Unfortunately, these recordings were taken off of a UStream livestream of the events. From July 31 through August 3rd, the Young Americans for Liberty held their 5th Annual National Convention at George Mason University's Arlington Law Campus. Over three hundred youth leaders- representing 46 states and 200 universities- came to organize, train, and hear from the liberty movement's new generation of leaders on Capitol Hill.
