Tina and Frank discuss Activision's layoffs/restructuring, Kinect's sales, APB's rebirth, and the new Shenmue game.
It's the Oddcast's 1-year anniversary! But no one gives a crap. This week the gang goes off on Black Ops' multiplayer, continues to gripe about the bugs in Fallout New Vegas, and bitches even more about San Francisco banning happiness (aka Happy Meals). Plus we talk about how Tetris cures all and plan our trip to Spain to visit Super Mario Street!
The 8-4 crew's too busy working on next year's games to have much time for this year's offerings, so they called in intern Alex "cvxfreak" Aniel to help discuss everything they wish they were playing (but mostly aren't).Tune in for baseless, uninformed talk about Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kinect, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, Vanquish, 25th Anniversary Super Mario Bros., and (as required by law) Call of Duty: Black Ops, not to mention the usual chit-chat on the latest news out of Japan (Inafune quits! Mikami gets bought! Uniqlo makes t-shirts!). As a great fairy once said: "LISTEN!"
Tina and Frank close the week out by chatting about Gran Turismo 5's confirmation, Kinect's pricetag, GTA's nine year late Mac arrival, and our gift guide. Seasons Greetings!
Welcome to the podcast formerly known as In This Thread/4 Guys 1UP/1UP Yours, and now currently being called either "Burger Time" or "USS 1UP Flagship Podcast." For this pilot episode of an all-new podcast, we have Thierry "Scooter" Nguyen on host/showrunning duties along with a ragtag band of fellows such as Frank Cifaldi, Matt Leone, and Jeremy Parish. If there's one way to summarize this episode, it'd be, "lovable nonsense interspersed with some game commentary." Sure, we lay down the basic ideas and format for this podcast moving forward, and we do talk about games like L.A. Noire, Fallout: New Vegas, Solatorobo, Final Fantasy Tactics, and numerous announcements such as new titles from EA and a new Super Monkey Ball. But then we frequently get sidetracked by things such as poetry from the past, the brief loss and rebirth of red M and Ms, our feelings about Gamefan, our advice for covering arcade expos, and just for you, an aural unboxing of some upcoming hardware. All this, plus a plea for reader input and a possible name for next week's episode.
Frank and Tina talk about the latest Call of Duty's sales record, Viacom selling Harmonix, fighting PTSD with Tetris, and the new LA Noire trailer.
Tina and Frank are here for the release of Activision's Call of Duty Black Ops, and a few other stories of note.
Tina and Frank discuss a Call of Duty: Black Ops theft, hacked Kinects, A2M's rebranding, and Sony's new store.
Kat, Mike and Travis dive headfirst into Fallout New Vegas spoilers this week, picking up where they left off last week. How does this spinoff ultimately stack up to the original, and do the bugs really detract from the experience? Kat's also joined by Scooter and Justin to talk about Fable III, where it becomes apparent that Scooter enjoys turning orphanages into brothels. It's not easy being king.
Sam and Tina of the Oddcast discuss the racist Kinect myth, Activision's new announcements, a new free Battlefield, and Ballsrog's New Vegas glitch.
Warren Spector joins Frank and Mike in the studio to discuss Epic Mickey, bringing back Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and classic cartoons. Also, what's this about Spector wanting to do a DuckTales game?
This week we discuss everything Kinect, Gran Turismo, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Battlefield Play4Free and introduce two new segments we think you'll enjoy. Oh, and we finish it off with listener questions as always!
Frank and Tina report on our Kinect launch coverage, Yamauchi's Gran Turismo 6 comments, and an exclusive LMNO video.
Tina and Frank chat about Square Enix censoring Black Ops, Gran Turismo's completion, and our God of War 3 feature.
Tina and Frank discuss the videogame-related clash in our nation's capital, MJ's famous glove, and Stephen Spielberg's LMNO.
