Importantly, the Federal Reserve’s claim that inflation will be “transitory” is almost certainly wrong. Inflation is rising — caused by printing too much money — and will both exacerbate and be exacerbated by shortages. Finally, in a global just-in-time economy, a missing critical raw or intermediate good can completely derail downstream manufacturing and delivery. But those can be solved for rather easily. Much more difficult are several missing components that potentially feed back into other critical manufacturing areas so that none can get going. At least not quickly or easily. Against this backdrop, the government continues to spend at record levels, creating record deficits, and the central banks continue to print and print and print. All they can show for their efforts, for sure, is a record wealth gap between the ultra-wealthy and everyone else. And that’s not good either. Fauci has destroyed faith in science. The FDA and NIH have diminished faith in medicines and treatments, respectively. Anthony Fauci is on record in 2012 as saying that the value of knowledge gained from creating a pandemic virus that escapes from a lab would be worth the risk. Now that it seems highly probable that a lab escape did happen, the virologists who met with Fauci in the early moments of the crisis to discuss - well, we don’t know what - are now supporting a wall of “It Was of Natural Origin!” articles being placed in sympathetic journals and newspapers. And in Drosten’s case, offering possible natural origins that are so utterly ridiculous as to be of high comedic value. It all stinks to high heaven. In this episode, I break down a very short window of time from Jan 31, 2020 to Feb 2 - 2020 when Fauci met with key representatives of the Welcome Trust, WHO, NIH and senior private virologists. They presumably discussed prior and ongoing gain of function experiments on SARS CoV viruses as well as the lab leak origin theory that was worriedly gaining steam out in the public eye. Mere days after this meeting a wall of scientific opinion coupled to air-tight media backing concluded that SARS-CoV-2 could not have come from a lab but must​ have been of natural origin. We now know this was not based on science but was a predetermined conclusion in search of supporters and which made declarative statements that could not possibly have been grounded in actual science. Our national and global health authorities have been playing fast and loose with my, no...with *our*, beloved science. Science means having an open mind, operating in a collegial fashion, being curious, and daring to be wrong and then change your mind when new facts come in. Religion demands obedience to a narrative. That's why I call our current times of medical nihilism as being shot through with scientific religiosity. People are believing the weirdest things, but then saying there's something wrong with us for asking questions and making observations (if and when those questions and observations don't confirm their unscientific views). To combat vaccine skepticism, or hesitancy, I have a simple solution for the authorities: stop spinning the data and start being transparent and consistent. It's really not that hard to grasp. People don't like uncertainty and that is often a function of authorities being unclear or inconsistent. The bottom line is that the short-term safety data for the 3 major vaccines shows that while they may be far preferable to getting Covid, they are among the least safe vaccines ever produced.
