Bishop Allen in Concert. With host Bob Boilen. Bishop Allen is an upbeat, playful pop group based in Brooklyn, N.Y. Though not officially a duo, Bishop Allen features the songwriting of Justin Rice and Christian Rudder. The long-time friends formed the group in 2003 with a rotating cast of supporting members.

John Vanderslice in concert. With host Bob Boilen. Vanderslice is one of the most imaginative, prolific and consistently rewarding artists making music today. He's released six mostly conceptual solo albums in about as many years, all of them widely praised for the way they reflect Vanderslice's curious world of sonic and musical experimentation.

The Apples in Stereo in concert. With host Robin Hilton. The Apples in Stereo first emerged in the early '90s as part of the Elephant 6 collective, a group of musicians with a shared love of lo-fi, neo-psychedelic rock. Fifteen years later, the collective has disbanded, and flagship bands like Olivia Tremor Control and Neutral Milk Hotel have stopped releasing new work. But The Apples in Stereo's members play on, returning with one of 2007's most inspired and ambitious recordings. Gogol Bordello, concert FIXED. Gogol Bordello is a spectacle. The wildly exuberant, multi-ethnic group from New York City makes frenetic music that's part punk rock, part Gypsy folk, part Cabaret. Led by Eugene H?tz, a Chernobyl survivor from Ukraine, the band is famous for its costumed live shows that often stretch for more than two explosive hours.
