The late, great Darren McGavin was a leading man back then, and he carried a series for a season and some change as Carl Kolchak, AKA "The Night Stalker"....spooky huh? This is a show that Josh is excited about, because it was a direct influence on The X Files. Does it measure up to Chris Carter's masterpiece? You know the drill, listen and find out!
Judge Reinhold as an actual Judge?!?! BRILLIANT! This time out, The Pilot Episode revisits Clerks The Animated Series to discuss the episode that actually AIRED first. In this case, it's Episode 4, in which Dante gets taken to court by Jay. Did the network do the right thing by airing this ep first, or would they have been better-served by sticking with the actual pilot? I think we all know the answer, but listen anyway, it's a fun show.
The voice of a generation (or at least the voice of a generation of slackers and fat guys), Kevin Smith brought his cult hit "Clerks" to television in animated form back at the turn of the century. It did not go well. The show was great, but the network just didn't have ANY idea what to do with it. Is it better that it has fallen into the "done too soon" category, or would a lengthy run been well-received? The Pilot Episode weighs in (no pun intended, Kev), on this edition!
