I know the say the 90's was the golden era for hip hop, that might be true on the national level. I would have to argue that the 80's was just as good or even better. This is when hip hop was getting it's legs getting ready to take off. I guess you had to live in New York in the 80's to understand the feeling we got when we heard hip hop, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!! I will try to create the scene for you with this podcast. The title speaks for itself. The Hip Hop on the radio today does not represent the wide spectrum of artist we have in Hip Hop. There are a lot of artist from different regions with hot music that will never be noticed. It's all the politics that now chokes the creativity out of the radio, but here at my radio station I will play everything from the north,south east and west.
