This performance took place on August 27, 2005 at the Paula and Sadie McDaniel's farm (known lovingly as Possum Holler) south of New Castle, VA. It was unfortunately a very rainy day and a number of bands did not show. But the Oriskany Strings, Craig County Boys, Elkins Brothers and Big Man's Big Men bands braved the elements so the show would go on. The audience was a a mixed group ranging in age from 1 to 100. Our band consisted of guest James Christian (vocals and guitar), Gene Guilliams (vocals), Rita Parady (vocals and autoharp) and Carol Lewis (vocals and 5-string banjo - Scrugg's style), Dick Parady (5-string banjo - clawhammer style) and Jack Lewis (2-string washtub bass).
