Best-Selling Author, Rejection, Divorce, Starting Over, and Falling In Love with Mark Leslie | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:01:17

Even in his earliest memories, the concept from the Spider-Man comic books of "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" resonated with Mark Leslie Lefebvre. It might have been because he self-identifies with the meek and nerdy Peter Parker; because it definitely wasn’t an affinity to spiders. He’s still deathly afraid of them. Not to mention the dark. But despite not ever having any power, he always took that responsibility seriously.   Mark fell in love with storytelling and with writing and followed that dream with an unwavering conviction.   Along the way, he learned to embrace rejection, failure, false starts, and loss as stepping stones on the larger journey.  At the age of 45, his near 20-year relationship and marriage ended with the wife and mother of his only child saying she no longer loved him. Shortly after, he was faced with an insurmountable brick wall in the corporate world which he was forced to leave and he had to re-invent himself as an entrepreneur.   In a short time period, he rebuilt his personal and professional life from scratch, while further exploiting the desire to share stories and to use his powers, which he realized were there all along, to help others.   FIND MARK HERE www.markleslie.ca http://twitter.com/markleslie http://instagram.com/markleslielefebvre http://youtube.com/markleslielefebvre https://facebook.com/markleslieauthor --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/becoming-parents/message

Depression, Compulsion, Culture Shock and Getting Woke with Erin Keam | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:04:16

I was a hyperaware child - intelligent and creative I first remember extreme depression at 13  - probably not a coincidence, hello hormones - dysfunctional childhood, but out of respect to mum, will frame as I took in data that didn't serve me   The shrink says that's probably when bi-polar triggered. I remember thinking there had to be better options out there - highly imaginative, evidence of slight mania in hindsight.   Chaotic work experience - never lasted more than two years, always motivated by avoiding depression, and growth, as well as whatever I was passionate about -  I never made it through university - just didn't have the ability to persevere back then.    Some jobs - customs officer, actor, copywriter,  alternative radio station, voice-overs, animal welfare officer,  swim school admin, realtor, wanted to be a funeral director at one point, tv & film production course, music magazine, sales, museum event coordinator, Tokyo newspaper, English to Japanese children using drama,  HMV DJ,     compulsive - went to London to follow a relationship and avoid depression caused by self-sabotaging choices and a ton of shame - fell in love with a woman, still in love with a couple of others, depression really bad, only stopped from doing self-harm by my sister, was hospitalized    I took off to Tokyo on a whim with a drag queen, ended up working for the Japanese mafia then Iranians selling jewelry on the street, hostess clubs, etc.   - depression always threatening, shame, shame, shame, self-medicated with alcohol - got sober in Tokyo   back in NZ, culture shock, BUT was finally diagnosed as super high IQ (yay) and BIPOLAR!!  always fascinated by psychology, what makes people succeed and how to help, plus creative, natural coach & marketer  Over two decades in peer-supported recovery, mentor-ship, and facilitator for change.  I always loved clothes and seen their connection to the life you want, (or in your case, nudity) and being a realtor helped me create my method as well. epiphany in Hawaii created a method in three days., beta tested, amazing results   Moved to the USA at 46, started my own business at 48. passionate about women making money to have agency and create change  - and it starts with your clothing - like it or not, you feel more confident when you feel you look great and in alignment with who you are. authentic, congruent, honest - no shame, loving your body and empowered to act, you are your message - attraction, not promotion  .  also, you are never too old. important to invest in yourself.  Married for the first time at 48. no kids - didn't trust myself to be a mother, then found out couldn't, glad I don't. I have a ton of young women in my life I love as well as other children, there is still a stigma around not having kids, but it's lessening I think.    most painful? still terrified of depression, feel I am a part-time human, SAD, imposter syndrome, hypnotherapy helps, so does medication, exercise, it's a daily challenge,    finally getting #woke at 52. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/becoming-parents/message

Recovering Porn Addict on Naked At Noon with Jenn Taylor - Josh Shea | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:56:54

By the time we record I will have had my TED Talk published to the web, and since we’ve talked before, I have become a certified betrayal trauma coach.    Marketing wise, you did great YouTube numbers with me. I have a twist in porn addiction. Since we talked last, I have a new book that includes a theory that 2020 will become known as the year that a new branch of porn addiction began: addiction for porn producers. Did you know well over 1 million young men and women started producing porn at home for sale in 2020? My research shows it’s not about the money. It’s about the same things that drive pornography viewers: Dopamine. You’ve got daughters in this age group as do millions of people.  From an abusive relationship and low self-esteem to dancer and author with Jennifer Anne Gordon | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:55:55

In 2004 I moved to the mid-west to be the person I thought I would spend the rest of my life with.   The relationship quickly soured, he was jealous, possessive moody, a chronic liar, emotionally abusive, and eventually physically abusive. I lost any confidence I had in myself. I had been an actress and performer, and an artist, and after several years with him, I was a broken person, too scared to even leave the house. Depression and fear we retaking over my life.  I wanted more than anything to learn to ballroom dance, there was a studio close to my home and it took years to build up courage enough to walk in those doors.  Dancing was the beginning of me finding my way back to myself. I became a professional ballroom dance instructor 8 months after my first lesson.  I have been a professional ballroom dancer since 2010 (covid has changed that). I have also been a burlesque dancer and was the creative director and choreographer of a burlesque troupe for 5 years.  I published my first novel last year, Beautiful, Frightening, and Silent. (currently a finalist for the Kindle Awards for the Horror Category). The novel deals with grief, surviving trauma, and domestic violence. A lot of my own experiences have found their way into my work. I have also published the Victorian Gothic Novel "From Daylight to Madness" and its sequel will be released on November 19th.   FIND HER HERE:  website - http://www.JenniferAnneGordon.com Amazon Author Page - amazon.com/author/jenniferannegordon Facebook Author Page - https://www.facebook.com/ JenniferAnneGordonAuthor/Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jennifergenevievegordon/ Twitter - https://twitter.com/ JenniferAnneGo5Goodreads - https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/20063036.  Middle child, to military to helping other be seen - with Joe Zeman | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:42:57

I grew up in a suburb of Chicago with an older brother and a younger sister and I always seemed to be the peacemaker, the one always trying to make other people happy. Because if other people were happy, I would be happy. I served in the military from 1998 to 2002 on active duty and 2 additional years in WA National Guard. The military made me grow up fast and enjoy the suck. If it ain't raining, we ain't training. From August 2002 to Sept 2017 I worked with the same company that started selling Yellowpages which moved to internet marketing. While working there I met an amazing man who believed in me enough to bring me into his and his wife's marketing company. 2 years ago I became a vested partner and absolutely love what I do, which is helping people. In October 2019 I launched a co-hosted podcast called Ask Valor Masterminds, which is all about business and sharing tips about all topics related to business.  Poverty and a Mom on disability, drugs and football with Eddie Thomason | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:57:07

I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD in a family that struggled with poverty for generations. My dad left when I was 8 years old and it forced my mom to take care of me and my brother on a $13k/year disability income.   Growing up in my neighborhood, its an unspoken belief that the only way "out" is to 1 of 3 options: Become a successful athlete Become an entertainer (rapper, singer, dancer, actor, etc) Or sell Drugs.    I chose option 1 but fell short of making it to the NFL. However, along the way I was able to become the first student in my high school's history (Chesapeake High School - BC) to ever earn a D1 scholarship. That scholarship allowed me to become the first male in my family to graduate from college.   These two milestones were crucial for changing my family legacy forever!    Today, I'm an inspirational speaker in the youth and college/university markets with a mission to help others shed self-limiting beliefs and pursue a life their passionate about living.     FIND EDDIE HERE: Website: https://eddiethomason.com LinkedIn: Eddie Thomason Instagram @eddiethomason_ Facebook: @thomasoneddie YouTube: Eddie Thomason --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/becoming-parents/message
