A recent University of Western Ontario graduate and avid investor, Ashlee began building her financial portfolio shortly after enrolling in university. Financially Speaking with Kathy Cook Noble  Kathy interviews first-time homeowners, Tori Noble and Carl Nogradi, on the ins-and-outs of buying your first home – getting approved for a mortgage; working with a realtor; house-hunting; and winning the bid in a seller’s market. A game of beach volleyball in Tecumseh and some mutual friends brought Carl Nogradi and Tori Noble together, and now, 5 years later, the young couple has purchased their first home together. Carl graduated from welding school with honours and is currently enrolled as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright. He works full-time at Fabmaster Welding and Millwrights as a welding supervisor and fabricator and works part-time for Lambton College as a Subject Matter Expert and Associate Welding Professor. Tori studied Political Science at the University of Guelph and University of Windsor obtaining a Bachelor of Arts and Masters. Financially Speaking with Kathy Cook Noble  The pandemic has impacted small businesses in a big way. Dance studios across the country were forced to change the way they interacted with their dancers or to shut their doors entirely depending on local regulations. Rebecca Brettingham-Filice, owner and artistic director of Dance Extreme Inc. located in London, Ontario, Canada, found that unacceptable and became an advocate for dance studios and dancers alike. Kathy chats with Rebecca about the world of dance and advocating for the dance industry during a crisis. Rebecca Brettingham-Filice is the owner and artistic director of Dance Extreme Inc. located in London, Ontario, Canada. Teaching and managing the studio since inception in 1997, Rebecca has taught many students. With over 600 students attending the school annually, she is kept busy with her faculty of 30. She brings with her over 20 years of teaching experience in jazz, ballet, lyrical, musical theatre, acro and tap. She is a certified instructor with Dance Educators of America and Dance Masters of Canada, Chapter #38 where she sits on the board of directors. Rebecca has also served as delegate for DMA for over twelve years and as the director of social media for the past 7 years. Rebecca graduated from Dance Masters of America’s Teacher’s Training School at Kent State University and the State University of New York in Buffalo. Rebecca has adjudicated for a number of dance organizations, competitions and has taught at various dance and business workshops throughout Canada and the United States. Rebecca’s students have attended and are currently attending professional schools of dance and theatre in Canada and the United States. A number of Rebecca’s students are currently working professionally and are involved in dance instruction.
