My name is Dave Rabbit. I did three tours in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971. In 1971, I wanted to do something for the front line troops WITHOUT CENSORSHIP and CREATED Radio First Termer. My Radio First Termer Podcasts include, among other things, a series of 4 recordings of one of my 21 Pirate Radio Broadcasts that were done from a Whore House in Downtown Saigon, Vietnam from January 1 to January 21, 1971 and were broadcasted LIVE throughout Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. It is the only KNOWN recorded show from that period of time. These recordings contain EXPLICIT MATERIAL, HARD ACID ROCK MUSIC, GI HUMOR and POLITICAL ANTI-WAR COMMENTS about the issues of the times which, of course, were SEX, DRUGS and ROCK and ROLL. These shows were created for the entertainment of the troops that put their lives on the line EVERY DAY in Vietnam and who were part of the huge Anti-War movement which was happening within the ranks of the military itself against the war in Vietnam. We SHUT DOWN at 11 p.m. on January 21, 1971 to prevent GETTING CAUGHT, as there was tremendous pressure on those that were protecting us. Had it not been for a tremendous underground movement, we would have been caught, court martialed and thrown in prison. Listener Discretion Is ADVISED!````On July 11th, 2007 a NEW WEEKLY SHOW called ATS MIX was created and launched.````http://daverabbit.podomatic.com

Mickey Hart - is a percussionist, author, producer and ethnomusicologist who’s done more for drums and drumming than I think almost any other human on the planet. His scope, reach and inclusion know no bounds; he is someone who has been searching, experimenting and expanding minds for over 45 years. Starting off in 1967 with the Grateful Dead, Mickey Hart has gone on to reshape and reintroduce human beings to their most basic self. His newest trip “Mysterium Tremendum” might be his most ambitious project to date; taking people on a journey through the vastness of the infinite universe. By taking sounds that were created billions of years ago, Mickey Hart and the Mickey Hart Band are taking these sound, mixing it with the technology of today, and delivering it to us in the most tripped out world/trance music way. Believe me when I say that this will no doubt be some of the most exciting and interesting music that you’ve heard in a long time.

The Sound is the official fortnightly podcast of www.theset.co.nz. Hosted by the pirate of the digital airwaves, Spanky Moore, The Sound asks New Zealand's top musicians and oddfellows the questions no one else would dare. And we push our guests way beyond their comfort zones just to see what it takes to make them crack under the pressure of bizzare and personal questions. We know no boundries and have no respect for any of our guests, no matter how famous or good looking they might be. Of coarse it's no all wild shananigans. The Sound plays only the freshest tracks from New Zealand's coolest bands - rock, hip hop, punk, metal, whatever - if it kicks arse we'll play it. Plus info on up coming gigs, whats happening in the surf and snow scene, free stuff, music news and the latest on the SmokefreeRockquest and SmokefreePacificabeats band competitions. AND, we cover all this in under 30 minutes flat! The Sound is the shit, so get downloading and let the good times begin.
