podcasts – Yarns at Yin Hoo

I learned to crochet in a professional development course called “Crochet for Stress Relief.” I had never been much of a crafty person — but I fell in love with the fiber arts. A few years later, I learned to knit by watching video tutorials. Next, I took my first spinning class and purchased a Louet. When my mother discovered a loom in her attic, I took it home. The setting for all of this crafting is a lovely tea house near Delaware Water Gap, PA. I’ve been a longtime listener of audio podcasts and I’m happy to add my contribution with Yarns at Yin Hoo, which I will release in August of 2013.

BluePower has spent eleven years on the net. We have always endeavored to produce the best and most comprehensive music shows possible. Our premise is to make a small contribution in making the world a better place in which all people and nationalities can live in peace and harmony. The Blues is an integral part of all popular music. Recently, we have found that many of our listeners are under twenty years old. They had never heard Muddy Waters or Ike Turner. They're listening now....to the "real" thing. The roots. Thanks to the net....Everything old is new again:) The Blues has no color; creed; race or nationality. Let's make some music together!

Librivox: Sammie and Susie Littletail by Garis, Howard R.

Once upon a time there lived in a small house built underneath the ground two curious little folk, with their father, their mother, their uncle and Jane Fuzzy-Wuzzy. Jane Fuzzy-Wuzzy was the nurse, hired girl and cook, all in one, and the reason she had such a funny name was because she was a funny cook. She had long hair, a sharp nose, a very long tail and the brightest eyes you ever saw. She could stay under water a long time, and was a fine swimmer. In fact, Jane Fuzzy-Wuzzy was a big muskrat, and the family she worked for was almost as strange as she was. (excerpt from text)

The Alternative

The Alternative

The Alternative is about thinking differently. Doing differently. Taking less traveled roads. Creating your own path. Taking paths of great resistance. And actually making a difference in the lives around us … and the world at large. We are more than a brand or a movement, we are not just about events and apparel. We are not a Sunday church or a music group that does concerts, we are people. People who are desperate for God to move in our schools, workplaces and families. People with dreams that require the power and backing of community. We believe in unity but not at the sake of watering down truth. We live, exist and dream for the name of Jesus. The is who we are.

Samuel Proctor Oral History Program - Podcasts

The Samuel Proctor Oral History Program at the University of Florida collects, preserves, and promotes the oral histories that shape the economic, social, political, religious, intellectual, and environmental experiences of our lives for the benefit and critical analysis of future generations. Oral history is an invaluable method of gathering and preserving the past and present through interviews with participants. Spoken memories constitute both the oldest type of historical inquiry, predating the written word, and, with the advent of the tape recorder in the 1940s, one of the most modern methods. Current podcasts will focus on our extensive digital library and concentrate on the following subjects: Academic History, Black History, Civil Rights, Labor, Water and the Environment, Women's History, and World War II.

Humor that is faster than your ISP ans cuts deeper than your Blue-Ray copy of Blade Runner...These guys spin tales of Nightmarish woe from the front lines of your tech support department and geekdom. If you have ever wondered why the code monkeys and phone jockeys of your ISP are surly take a peek behind the firewall and listen to the water cooler talk of love, life, tech, and horror stories too frightening to tell around the camp fire. The host is me, Holytotemic. I'm a geek and tech support agent from Buffalo, NY and also a tech enthusiast. I interview a motley crew of other gamers and geeks weekly in a "sort of" group therapy that usually turns into a monkey Shit Fight. Enjoy!
