Summary: Part of the 2007 Learning From... lecture series, Gregory Guldin presents Urbanising Southern China: Poverty, Minorities, and Development. A specialist in Chinese urbanisation, ethnicity, and politics, Gregory Guldin is Professor of Anthropology at the Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) in Tacoma, Washington. His lecture examines the social and environmental consequences of accelerated industrialisation in China, as agricultural villages become dense urban agglomerations at unprecedented rates. The lecture is introduced by Giovanna Borasi, CCA Curator of Contemporary Architecture.
