Criminology at the Edge. Paul Rock

UCT Centre of Criminology show

Summary: Paul Rock’s paper entitled “What have we done” poses the question on how theoretical criminology threads its way through research and how we rarely quit the empirical realm to talk about theory in the abstract. He said that theory aims to be systematic and articulate, to stretch us to think harder about our findings, to get beyond the immediate and that theory offers procedures on how one may think better about what we are doing, because things are never self-evident
