String Theory covers a moment in the life of musician Levi Weaver. Following a six year span of his career, from touring with Imogen Heap to playing intimate house shows around the world and every kind of venue in between, the film features personal interviews, a multitude of concert footage, and uncommon access to Levi’s personal road footage. String Theory is a feature documentary with a first-hand look at the constant tension between art and commerce, Levi Weaver’s ever-evolving and inspiring creative process, and the distances he has driven to measure the road between fame and true success. My friend Shea Weaver Grubbs (no relation to Levi Weaver by the way) recently sent me a notification that she is involved in an INDIEGOGO campaign to fund a documentary called STRING THEORY. Relax. I'm NOT going into a discussion of particle physics or quantum mechanics...in fact I just had to look those terms up to write them down. That description, singer-songwriter, sounds a little too simple when describing an artist like Levi Weaver. Listen to some of his music, like I have over the past few days and I think you'll agree. STRING THEORY could use your help. Grubbs and her husband Jonathan already have hours of concert and backstage footage that Weaver himself has compiled over the years. From the looks of their INDIEGOGO teaser, that footage alone could make a worthy documentary. But they aren't settling for editing only archival footage collected by the artist himself. Over the next year, the STRING THEORY production team will, with a skeleton crew, travel across the USA and the UK documenting Levi Weaver's life as a troubadour. The tour will take Weaver mostly into a series of HOUSE CONCERTS, intimate gatherings of fans and soon to be fans who will literally gather in a private residence for an up close and personal concert experience with this exceptionally talented performer.
