Summary: I recently received an email from a listener named Wendy and she wrote,"There is very little help available to sex addicts, and even less to the partners of sex addicts, until now!!! I am happy to say, that my husband of nearly 10 years has been clean & sober 15 months, and while we've definitely had our ups & downs along the way, our relationship is better then ever. Confirming his sex addiction was a devastating blow, one in which I never thought I could recover from. He has worked extremely hard, going to therapy, and attending SAA, which I believe have been the reason he's been able to hang on to his sobriety. My husband encouraged me to seek my own individual help, which in the beginning I refused. I was angry & biter, and who would blame me? I agreed to attend one COSA meeting, and have been there since...10 months later. Our current success I believe is due to both of us working our individual programs, setting boundaries, and at least for me, trying to understand the challenges the sex addict faces each day. Likewise for him, in trying to understand how his sex addiction has effected me. You're program has helped with this. I don't know what our future holds, but i can tell you, that since facing this problem, we have both grown as individuals, and together.
