A Friend of the Friendless

Reaching Your World with Luis Palau show

Summary: I’ve heard numerous stories over the years about bullies, both in schools and in the workplace. I’ve met teenagers who are picked on so badly they are left with low self-esteem and feelings of extreme loneliness. A woman once shared with me that she had to leave her job because she felt rejected by her co-workers and under-appreciated by management. Loneliness breaks my heart, and I think it breaks God’s heart also. When others share their stories of feeling friendless and rejected, I share these words of Jesus with them, when He said,  “You are my friends if you do what I command.” If you believe in Jesus, He is your friend for eternity. Jesus went to the cross as a friend and died as a friend. He is the best friend I will ever have. “He is the friend of sinners,” Jesus’ enemies accused Him of. We can make a difference in the lives of those who feel rejected, bullied and alone. Take some time to show them you care, and tell them about the love and acceptance you’ve found in Jesus. Because of His sacrifice, we are accepted into God’s family for eternity. We are loved!
