Michael Uebel, PhD, LMSW Co-founder, IDP-Austin Director of Contemplative Studies Michael Uebel's study of Eastern philosophy and contemplative practice began in the mid-1980s when he was introduced to Taoism and the I-Ching. Since then, he has developed a serious study of the Mahayana tradition, with special emphasis on Zen Buddhism. Michael practices zazen and is beginning qigong meditation.
