Summary: We will interview with Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, Training and Doctrine Command Deputy Commanding General - Initial Military Training, live from the Initial Military Training Conference. Congress approved the standup of IMT this fall. DCG-IMT will standardize, reinvigorate and evolve training for initial entry Soldiers and recently commissioned junior officers in order to support a more efficient and effective Army Forces Generation, while providing Soldiers and leaders who can immediately contribute to their first unit of assignment. Training is evolving to meet the demands Soldiers face and incorporate new methodologies and training techniques. Lt. Gen. Hertling will specifically discuss the outcomes and objectives of the conference taking place this week, as well as lessons from combat and the operational force including: - How the U.S. Army reviewed and revised Basic Combat Training plan of instruction and Warrior Task and Battle Drill, with input from the field. - Standards and training across Initial Military Training.
